Simple spice
Here I go again with yet another few words about a fragrance that rewinding only a year or so ago I've never heard of but I sure do now. With Etienne Aigner I've purchased at least 4 or 5 different fragrances from this house and I've yet to be disappointed. This time it's from 1976, a discontinued scent called Etienne Aigner Number 2. Released in 1976 during the greatest era for Masculine Perfumerie, (1965-2000) when I buy fragrances I almost always take the bull by the horns and go blind. I'm not hard to please and It's been a positive experience 95% of the time. A lot of their men's offerings always border on mossy woody and spicy greatness and Number 2 does just exactly that. Unusual for me this bottle purchase leans more current than vintage and I was kinda worried about that but no matter. Etienne Aigner takes no prisoners whether the distributor is they themselves or launched under the Elizabeth Arden banner. Other fragrances I'd never buy like that but this one does me no harm. Spritz it on during the day and by late afternoon I'm still detecting faint whiffs here and there. I'd put it in between the 7 to 9 hour longevity range and for a fragrance under $40, that's a pretty good thing. I have well over 400 various fragrances and I've shown no evidence of stopping or even slowing down. This is a hobby that I truly love and each new fragrance garners a new lesson for me. Now if I can only learn how to break down those pesky individual notes like so many others do on this site!!! My hats off to all those people. :)
