My favorite out of the no5 series and the mainstream collection of Chanel.
A sophisticated timeless beauty. Light and elegant for summer, this fragrance is a burst of gorgeous citrus and rose lying together on a bed of jasmine and musk. Generally, on my skin, Jasmine becomes very animalic but here is just perfect to complement the citruses. Performs over 5hrs on the skin but on fabrics...for days. Quite aldehydic in the opening, but on the dry down we have a beautiful sweet floral very addictive.

My first encounter with Diaghilev happened four yrs. ago when I was still in the beginning of my deeper knowledge about fragrance world. Actually, I was an avid buyer for 10 years before, but I was buying more to have not really to experience all the feelings that a fragrance can give you. On a natal land perfume lovers' group somebody posted the split of a bottle of Diaghilev. Back then, the comments the post received were only at the highest level and how amazing this fragrance was. Very shy I bought 4 ml which cost me around 30 euros back then. By receiving the package, the small decanter leaked, and the entire bubble wrap and envelope were stinking. Due to high price and half of quantity missing I hated it and the rest of decanter remained buried in the over 200 testers and decanters box I have, with 0 attention. Last year by buying from the same group a bottle of Guerlain, I received around 2ml of extreme macerated liquid in a 12m decanter. Somehow tis one leaked in the past and the bottle was extremely sticky as someone dipped it into honey. While unwrapping my well waited Guerlain bottle, the moment of revelation happened. By touching this sticky small decanter, the entire room filled with one of the most beautiful aromas I have ever felt. Pure ingredients blended amazingly give birth to the sexiest chypre ever smelled and tried by me. In this perfume you can say that every penny found a small corner and waited in line to pay tribute to beautyness. Do not understand this is an easy liquid to wear, the majestic blend requires the right attitude and clothing, otherwise you might seem just a small arrogant with no idea of how powerful a fragrance can be and it will just overwhelm you. Even many voices find it unisex and even manly I would say this is suited to women, strong ones with very red lipstick, a tie or why not, Marylin Monroe style-wearing just a drop of it (Diaghilev) and still only this, do not forget the red lipstick. It suits perfectly.

Bought it for the beautiful name and what the ancient Egyptian goddess means - back then did not know about the modern group mentioned often in the news.
This is just gorgeous! The overall impression is a multifaceted intense caramelized amber. It is so seem-less in the blending that you cannot pick out the individual notes. If I would have to compare it with something I would say is unique but in the same time I would say ok, it has something from Lira, something from Grand Soir...it has something but still, I can not say I would replace it with something else since is so unique.
Excellent for special occasions and evenings out. Also great when you feel like you could use a good comforting lonely night scent. Longevity and sillage are stellar! This is worth every penny!

JPG made with this one an epic masterpiece but as all masterpieces, in order to remain masterpiece, the have discontinued it. It was one of my favorite perfumes, sweet, extremely long-lasting, with a very strong sillage, the perfect perfume for me. Lactonic, smells of tangerine, caramel and whipped cream or I might say candied oranges and orange blossom against a gingery vanilla-wood backdrop. Very feminine and a statement maker.If anyone knows something similar to this, please let me know.

Beautiful fragrance but as so many of the summerly fragrances it fades away very easily. Unfortunately for me, the house of Byredo except some fragrances sys nothing. Due to horrible packaging/bottle, I owe none even I like some fragrances like Seven Veils, Bal d'Afrique and Gipsy Water. For the rice I would expect a more appealing look and a better longevity/sillage.
