gentleman´s punch
fight club white is my seventh fragrance from Reyane Tradition.
Not all of them made it to the display case; one was even banished to the comb shelf in the guest toilet. So I was all the more curious about the scent, which comes in a stylish plastic bell shaped like a white boxing glove. The whole thing is well made, but the cheap print on the bottle above the thumb abruptly ends the design attempt. However, there are a thousand other manufacturers who are less creative.
On the skin, it truly lives up to its name. A colorful bouquet of citrus notes delivers a solid hook to the nose. This, combined with lavender and rosemary, creates a spectacular opening. I also detect a distinct note of pineapple at the start.
The heart notes are a colorful mix of garden herbs that develop nicely from the top notes. With this fresh scent, which some contemporaries might mistakenly perceive as a room spray from an English country house, it has earned my favor. But I also enjoy "Bowling Green" by Geoffrey Beene. And to stick with the boxer's imagery - this mix dances gracefully around the nose.
It then replaces this freshness with a somewhat crude mix of "everything that is good for a base note" - at this point, it feels a bit arbitrary and a little too woody for my nose, as if the floor of the ring were solely made of fir.
The longevity is certainly above average, and the sillage is quite appropriate for an English gentleman's fight: present without being intrusive. Anyone expecting blood, sweat, and a backyard boxing hall will be disappointed.
All in all: a great fragrance that will find its fans.

Just this once
To be honest? I'm not into unisex fragrances. Most of them are too indecisive for me and try to please everyone in some way. The first exception to the rule: fresca. Discovered on vacation, cautiously observed, and sparingly tried.
The bergamot makes a spectacular opening; my nose is too untrained for the verbena.
Like through a revolving door, the bergamot disappears, leaving a light trace, and in the doorway appears the cedar: elegant and understated. Accompanied by a bit of incense and many woody nuances.
A great summer scent for men; the ladies deserve something floral along the way, which shouldn't stop them from embracing the fresh adventure.
The fragrance is a harmonious companion for the day - if it gets formal in the evening, one should look for alternatives.
I can't fault the longevity - there are weaker candidates out there.

The Discovery of Freshness
For nearly 10 years, the two Italian perfumers have been creating their fragrances in the Canary Islands, inspired by the magic of the island. Oceano is currently the only men's fragrance, but it is a successful representation of the house's style. A clear and harmonious fragrance pyramid without any frills and nuances of anything. The citrus top note is fresh, somewhat tangy, and effortlessly transitions into rosemary. Supported by a well-crafted blend of marine notes, the scent is the perfect companion for a loooong summer. And in the dark November, the fragrance is a wonderful reminder of sun, beach, and sea.
Longevity and sillage are decent, the price-performance ratio is commendable, and I give a 100% recommendation to not only look for the usual "suspects" in the treasure trove during your next visit to the Canary Islands.
