Except for the kitsch bottle design,
This is quite good for a $ 20 purchase, so I write a review. Gentleman is a subclass of many formulas that have already been proven, and it's nothing new in fact. But this has a good quality to please both perfume lovers and the public. Gentleman's opening is a mild citrus resembling Roma Uomo or Minotaure. It's less creamy than them, and it's different in terms of directionality because of the sparkling black tea coming up immediately, nevertheless, it's reminiscent of Roma Uomo and Minotaure's fascinating unisex side.
Over time, vetivers and cedars(maybe) with a hint of red flowers dominate the entire scent. From this point on, Gentleman feels like a young brother of Terre d'Hermes, or Lalique L'Insoumis without green herbal soapy water, and it become a pretty sophisticated and courteous scent. From this point on, the scent is a bit linear but strong and long lasting. And the drydown with cardamom, amber, and beautiful cedar is like a men's fragrance that's so familiar to everyone, yes, it seems like The One.
To be clear, Gentleman is not a piece of art, although imitated many mainstream-oriented perfumes what loved by the public, nevertheless, this goes well with formal spots, official events, high-end department stores, high-rise lounges with pools, and night walks in downtown. From the point of view of perfume as a consumable used in real life, it will be hard to find a more practical piece at a better price. Oscar De La Renta seems to have a pretty solid philosophy when it comes to perfume. I see it as the generality and the democracy of fragrance. One more thing, it is a secret, Gentleman is also a little similar to Dior Homme 2020 but much better.
