The reason I'm here!
Since I was about 12 years old, my mother told me that you have to be good at judging.
So perfume on the neck before you leave the house
So far so good
Most of the time she bought me a bottle for special occasions, later I bought it myself
These were mostly cheap to medium-priced designers and almost always "safe options".
Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Invictus or sometimes Versace

Well...purely out of boredom I went to the Mü... during my lunch break a few months ago and thought to myself:
"It's been a long time since you took time out to smell some scents"
Normally I would have smelled again on any aquatic plants, which you can't smell in autumn after 5 minutes
But after 2-3 scents that smelled "quite ok", I discovered Tom Ford Ombre Leather.
The Private Blend Line does not have them and so the matt black flacon caught the eye.
I knew Tom Ford from YT videos, which are about unperformable suits :D
I didn't even read the title - I just grabbed a test strip and sprayed it directly onto it.
WOW...WOW!
It just smelled different than anything before
But first and foremost, I found it incredibly luxurious
For the first time I saw a (for me extremely high) price and I thought: But it smells so expensive!
A leather smell...which does not smell so leathery and pure...but pleasant and noble.
Nevertheless it was of course a lot of money for a spontaneous purchase and so I took the test tyre & went back to work.
In the evening I smelled it a few times; the WOW was still there.

2 weeks later I bought the fragrance.
Thanks to Ombre Leather, I now thought that I liked leather scents...but no.
No one else can do the balancing act between leather and compatibility.
I don't have to worry about my date or the person next to me running away
He's strong, he lasts long... but without ever getting on your nerves
And thanks to OL, I have now bought some more and smelled at least 100 test strips, including many hand back samples
Many were good or even special...but no other smells so luxurious & graceful to me.

It's not a professional review right now... but the reason I signed up

Too authentic?
In the first moment I was fascinated by the scent, because the description of the fragrance is really well done.
It smells authentically of burning wood, a campfire
And if you just sniff it once on the paper, you'll like it too.
But on the skin... several hours... that's something else.

One really smells (for oneself also well perceptible) of burning wood, and I personally didn't want that anymore after a few moments.
At this point I don't know whether the scent is bad or very good, so I save myself an evaluation of the scent itself and judge only the rest.
Because for a change the name is really fitting and not just an advertising gag, on the other hand the performance is really good.
So is it Maison Margiela's fault that I don't like him and he is very special?
To sum up, most of the fragrances in the Replica series are very special & unique...and so it is to be hoped that the brand will continue to experiment.
Personally, I don't think that many people would like the scent in the long run.
But I still think it's good he exists.

Not particularly - but good
Right at the start.
We are talking about a 30€ fragrance (50 ml) - with any promotions it costs as much as a pizza + drink at the Italian restaurant around the corner.
There it may & must not compete with the favorite scent of Tom Ford or Dior.

I like the smell. It is neither special, nor does it have a long shelf life (which is the case with most freshness of this kind), but it is a pleasant, beautiful fragrance that you can wear every day & on every occasion without doing anything wrong.
The bottle is also beautiful
