As Good as Layton
This fragrance is honestly just as good as Layton. There is one caveat, and this is that Layton is a bit richer and a bit deeper. Not enough for anyone to notice unless they are really trying.
As far as sillage, longevity go, RE is actually better.
I am beside myself with this one honestly. When I first sprayed Layton on my body last year, I fell in love. I thought to myself that this is what pure magic smells like. This is what love must actually smell like.
I was, and still am in love with PDM Layton, and I will always have this in my collection as I have formed precious memories with it.
When I saw that RE was a Layton clone, I thought, "how dare something claim to be as good as my precious Layton". So I decided to evaluate it myself.
I am blown away, and I am being honest here, Royal Equestrian is as good as Layton...if not better due to the price point, sillage and longevity.
As far as sillage, longevity go, RE is actually better.

I dont know what happened
Listen, I bought this last week. I loved it at first spray. The opening was amazing. I got orange, almond and I could even make out the vetiver somewhat. It is definitely masculine. I really liked the fragrance but there was one caveat. I was disappointed by the longevity.
But then something happened. I wore this to bed last night for the first time since getting it. I sprayed me left hand, my shirt and my left wrist.
I woke up this morning and could still smell the dry down very strongly. I could make out every base note still!
It doesn't even end there.
Today I wore Chanel Allure homme sport eau extreme. You all know how potent and long lasting of a fragrance that is. On my left hand and wrist, all day, keeping up with the Chanel, I could still smell the Guerlain Ideal Cologne! I really still cannot believe it. I am in awe. I have no idea what or how this fragrance transformed.
I got home just now and put on my night shirt. Guess what......It smells almost exactly like when I sprayed it on last night!
That is over 24 hours of longevity. It is the reason for this review.
Im not sure if the fragrance "macerated" or whatever, but this is awesome and absolutely amazing. The best part, is I only paid 23 dollars for the 3.3 oz bottle!
Highly, highly recommend. Safe blind buy if you like masculine lemon fragrances.

Excellent Dress up Fragrance: the Prada L'homme of Winter
This is the kind of fragrance that will grow on you. I wasnt aware of the fact that I loved Iris until I wore this for the 5th or 6th time. The first time I wore it, I oversprayed, got a headache, and it was incredibly cloying.
You only need 1 spray. Maybe 2. Any more is overkill. This is an excellent luxury feeling fragrance. It smells expensive and high class. I often wear it to work as I dress business casual everyday. Would not recommend for hot environments. Cold weather/indoor controlled climate is best, so versatility suffers but that's okay.
It lasts all day, literally at the end of my 10 hr work day It was still on my clothes and even my skin slightly. Amazing iris and leather laden opening and beautiful beautiful sweet vanilla and leather (ever present) dry down.
I tried DHI and although DHI lasted slightly longer it had a somewhat oily smell reminiscent of hydrocarbons like gasoline, that I could not get behind. Maybe its because I'm 26 year old young professional, but I'm a huge fan of VOI.
Highly recommend.
