What goes around comes around
L'Anarchiste by Caron
Old Fashioned Men's Aftershave
Opens up as an old fashioned men's
aftershave with loads of orange/lemon/begamot and cedar wood. I
personally don't get mandarin and orange blossom as the top notes, the
citrus is much more vague than that. A few minutes in sees the
development of some minty, metallic, animal funky notes (it reminds me
briefly of artificial ambergris funk). There is some cinnamon which I
find quite dischordant with the mint.
It has a bright freshness
about it, high-pitched, not much in the way of deep basenotes, and
altogether rather harsh as the metallic note development is very
powerful on my skin.
My dad had something like this in the
1960's/1970's; probably something marketed as a cedarwood aftershave and
likely by Boots the Chemist or similar.
It's true what they say, 'What goes around comes around'.
