You don't notice when September is...
Oh how this scent completely blew me away. After a long back and forth researching, I tested the EdT and the perfume. And I must say. Unexpectedly for me, the EdT showed much more character. While the perfume really smells like a fragrance that is planned and tailored to a target audience, the EdT grabs me with its rainy/mineral own nature. I was looking for a scent that smells like something specific. I wanted petrichor.
For those who don't know, petrichor is the smell when rain falls on dry ground and asphalt. Somehow so special and yet pleasing. Few know this term, but when you explain what it means, everyone agrees that they at least like this smell. But now to Terre d'Hermes EdT.
This scent smells like orange. But not like a fresh fruit, rather like the hands of your own children after peeling the fruit on the terrace in late summer and then playing in the garden without washing their hands. Without a sense of time. But what is that? A rumbling in the background. You look up and only now notice the thunderstorm front slowly approaching. I am not afraid. The terrace is covered.
You didn't realize that it was already earlier evening. The sun is lower than in the last weeks at this time. It's still warm, but the light has generally been a bit duller and not as bright in the last few days. September is coming.
The clouds are moving in front of the low sun. Gray slowly displaces the golden yellow. It is quiet. Now you can faintly hear the drops as they hit and brush against the leaves. The sound grows stronger. Even if I were blind and deaf. I smell rain. I should wash my hands. They are dirty from playing in the garden and still slightly sticky from the orange. But right now, it's good like this. The aromas of orange, earth, and rain mix for a brief moment in my nose. Soon I must go to bed. But not yet. Right now, I sit and take in the moment. I will be able to sleep well.
In line with this, the song Petrichor by OG Keemo comes to my mind:
Can't you see the flowers falling? Can't you see?
The sun, it stops shining earlier,
Where has your shine gone?
Has it been blown away by all the wind?
Why don't you come inside?
Why don't you come inside?
Yes, yes
But nothing is as it was before
I sweat and kiss the cone shape
The air is full of petrichor
And prepares me for rain
We had a good summer, but you don't notice when September is
I go home, close the windows tight
While you hang outside and want to
Fight against clouds with your hands
Where your head was, there is now dense smoke
Outside, thunderstorms are brewing
And still, you don't come inside
The hand is sore, the face is numb
Clouds have robbed you of your sight
Still, you don't come inside
Still, you don't come
Because you don't notice when September is
I see you, but I don't recognize you
And still, you don't come inside, yes
Why don't you come inside?
...
All in all, I simply love this scent. I will strive for backup bottles so that it lasts until the end of my life, that much is certain.

Hell yeah
Where do I start... I ordered this fragrance in the hope of finding something similar to Intense Cafe by Montale at a slightly lower price. The Montale bottles don't particularly appeal to me, although they do have a bit of what I like in their design. But whatever. I find the bottle quite chic at first glance. I also think the logo on the front is okay. Now onto the scent.
I recognize parallels to Intense Cafe, of which I still have a tiny little sample. But hey, in terms of structure, classical music and metal often sound very similar as well. However, they sound completely different. Intense Cafe is pompous and feels very upscale, well thought-out, and accentuated. Terra Mia is like the metal version of that. By that, I don’t mean metallic, but rather a very wild, loud, and heavily distorted version of Intense Cafe. I also perceive a beer scent. But more like a dark beer. Maybe cola-beer, dirt, or diesel, take your pick. And I don’t want to sound sexist or anything, but this makes it feel significantly more masculine to me than IC. The longevity is outstanding, and you are definitely noticed. Almost a bit too much in your face. My girlfriend loves it on herself and on me. I like it. Maybe also because this beer or beer tent scent evokes childhood-uhhhhhh-youth memories.
I got the fragrance for €80 for 100ml, and I really can’t complain about that.
I love it, and I’ve already received a few compliments, although I don’t care that much about them.

Grandma's Birthday
I got the fragrance on the Dua site for a bargain. Since The Mobster is said to be very close to Roja Enigma, I thought it could really be a cool combination, especially with a hint of Starry Night and Intense Cafe mixed in.
Cool is not what this fragrance is at all. It's rather a bit old-fashioned. I know Enigma and I know Intense Cafe, yet I didn't account for Starry Night. Grandma vibes instantly incoming. But not an old grandma who watches "Rote Rosen" on public television in a living room with the heating turned up full blast in the afternoon. More like the grandma who celebrates her birthday with the other grandmas. On the table, there are liqueurs of all kinds, leaning more towards cherry liqueur, along with coffee or Schwatten (coffee with a shot of grain spirit) and a nice cake. The atmosphere is cheerful and the window hasn't been opened in a long time. The old perfumes that the ladies have always worn mix in with it.
That's what comes to mind when I smell this fragrance. It is not youthful. But for me, it is comforting. Especially because of this image I have from the past, when grandma was still in her mid-60s. Especially women approach me about this fragrance. Not because they find it sexy or anything on me, but because they think it would smell good on themselves. On the other hand, I feel that more and more older fragrances are coming back into general and younger awareness. Vintage or retro is in. And in this current trend, I see this fragrance.

2 Scenarios
So first of all:
I enjoy going into a Lush store and sniffing around. Not just the perfumes but also everything else there. It can be overwhelming, but you can get used to it. What I appreciate about Lush fragrances is the mainstreaming of scents that are actually not mainstream. And since I am not very respectful of fragrances based on their bottles, I can also accept the simplicity of the Lush bottles.
Now to the scent. In hindsight, I regret a bit that I chose this one instead of Lord of Misrule. I recently sniffed LoM and found it really well-rounded yet unusual. However, the Lush store didn't have it in stock at that time, so I chose Rentless instead. Rentless gives me two images. On one hand, a hipster event in autumn in some backyard, where string lights hang everywhere and where vegan waffles are served, and where a cigarette or two is smoked, but only in the corner at the back. The walls are rough, peeling in places, revealing brickwork underneath. Somewhere, a barrel is burning, and that seems to provide enough warmth for everyone. It's actually too cold to be outside, but everyone seems okay with it, and a lot of hot chocolate is being consumed. The evening is nice and calm, not perfect, but that was never the expectation, perhaps even intentionally not desired.
Another image that comes to mind is the return home. The completely imperfect return home, and yet it’s nice. I see myself in early December. It’s really uncomfortable, cold, and raining, because snow would be too pleasant. You come in with cold cheeks and you can smell that mom has been baking. Beautiful chocolate cookies. But wait, what smells so burnt? Mom reports that the first two batches unfortunately burned in the oven. However, the subsequent cookies have absorbed a bit, but only a little, of the burnt aroma. Mom's aroma sticks are also in the hallway, radiating throughout the house.
The scent has its rough edges. Yet even when I wear it for my own comfort, I unfortunately only had this scent with me when I was once at home with my family over the Christmas holidays. During this time, there is a tent festival from the 1st to the 2nd Christmas holiday where everyone meets. Those who stayed and also those who have moved away. I wore the scent there and received nothing but compliments. Everyone thought it was great and very delicious. In the huge tent, with about 3000-4000 visitors, smoking also happens, albeit secretly when the security guards aren't looking. The scent fits perfectly there. Especially since it should be on par, if not even superior, to others like Eros and One Million in terms of longevity and sillage. And its smell makes it stand out.

This is it
Hello everyone,
this is my first review and I ask for your understanding. I got this fragrance blind based on various reviews and opinions I read online. I bought this scent because I somehow wanted it as a reward for myself. The iris note intrigued me, as well as its suitability for the office and year-round wear.
I am not a fine sniffer (derived from gourmet), yet I believe I have had the chance to smell several fragrances and can recognize where there is a certain difference between designer and niche levels.
But I digress... (it won't be the last time).
My evaluation criteria are basically very simple:
Do I like it, does my better half like it, and how long does it last?
Answer: I like it. The iris note just gets to me. Sometimes I'm just a little sweet. But it's not over the top. It stays clean and not sticky. Still, I think I have smelled this fragrance somewhere before, but not as soap or EAU de Parfum. So somewhere in everyday life, but I can't remember where. Somehow in childhood days, but since the fragrance was only released in 2016 and I am 30 years old, it couldn't have been during my childhood. So as I said, it awakens something in me. For me, that's a good thing, and others have also told me that I smell pleasant. And pleasant is not good or great or sexy, but exactly what the fragrance evokes in me. A pleasant feeling.
My girlfriend likes it too. Back in the days, about 4-5 years ago, my girlfriend gifted me Valentino Uomo Intense. She said something about this fragrance being different and that she hadn't smelled anything like it before. She tends to prefer heavier scents for herself, like patchouli, cinnamon, praline, and creaminess. Normally, this is also the case with men's fragrances. But she wanted a going-out fragrance for me, far from One Million and co., so not too synthetically sweet. And Valentino seems to have caught her attention. This fragrance also sparked both of our interests in fragrances. But I digress again. It turned out that it was indeed this iris component that she liked back then and still does with the Prada. So to speak, the VUI for the day. So she also gives it full marks.
What can I say about longevity? I can relatively quickly no longer smell this fragrance on myself. I must say, however, that it has improved since I started applying only 2 sprays on my neck and enough in my hair (on the braid, as I have long hair), as well as a little on my sleeves. With this fragrance, that's possible, as I think it's not too intrusive. I generally spray a lot and always early enough so that the respective fragrance has settled before I go out among people. Well. I get at least about 8 hours out of it. How do I know this? I applied the fragrance at 8 AM. I am currently working from home, but I am taking care of a colleague's dog throughout the day and then bringing him to my place. I go out with him in all weather and return him in the evening between 4 and 6 PM. Sometimes he is not there yet, but I have a key to the apartment. I have received a few messages from him saying that we must have just missed each other when he got home because he could still smell my perfume. At that point, I could no longer perceive it on myself. But it definitely means that there must be a certain longevity for me.
In my opinion, one should generally spray more than 4-5 sprays. And also not too much around the neck area, because it can overwhelm you. If you own many perfumes, you should also use them. You can get so many sprays out of a fragrance that even with a large amount, it won't run out quickly. But that's a philosophical question. I spray a lot, but also with some lead time. Oh, I'm digressing again.
So in short:
I like the fragrance. My girlfriend likes the fragrance. The fragrance lasts well with my spraying method. So what more could you want?
