Dark coffee & rose
It's really interesting how fragrance is so subjective. For me the coffee is absolutely the most prominent note throughout the wear but a friend of mine said it smelled like roses and didn't get the coffee at all. The opening is very bitter, but it rounds out quickly and dries down to a sweet black coffee with vanilla syrup, rose and hazelnut. This is similar to Intense cafe, but much better and more natural smelling.

I got this one on a wonderful vacation in Italy, which may affect my judgement. Otherwise this might have been just a like, simply because these types of perfumes are not the easiest to wear in my daily life. This may come off as a bit too strong for people who are not into perfume, so I find I have to be strategic about when to wear this.

Hazelnut & Coffee
This fragrance is a gourmand, sweet but not cloyingly so. I get a lot of hazelnut cream and a little coffee, on a base of vanilla and musk. The bergamot and pink pepper are present in small amounts, adding just a bit of zing (much like adding some orange peel to a dessert). Longevity is several hours for me. I like the drydown a lot too, it retains some complexity rather than being a flat sweet scent.

I don't typically like most gourmand fragrances, but I find this one very cozy and comforting to wear, especially in cold weather. I don't find it too overwhelming for warm weather wear, except for maybe the very hottest days.

I think the bottle is fine, nothing special, but it is heavy glass with Carthusia in raised letters in the glass and the sprayer isn't flimsy like some I've used. I wouldn't characterize it as cheap so much as boring.

Overall, this is one of my favorite fall and winter scents to wear.

Unexpected meeting
When I traveled to Naples, Italy, as I was walking on the streets I noticed a very interesting smell. It was definitely a rose fragrance but different than most. The scent trail was intoxicating and smooth. I saw some ads of Carthusia in some bus stops so on the way home I went to the Carthusia store at the aiport and asked the lady at the counter if they have a rose-gourmand. They did. As I first smelled Terra Mia it took me back to my home country, Hungary. Our local coffee shop, Cafe Frei has a raspberry coffee that tastes exactly how Terra Mia smells. Freshly roasted coffee, a raspberry-like jammy rose, vanilla and a slight nuttyness. Love at first sniff.

Decaf
For ones I am thankful for this fragrance showing me just how much my skin loves sweet scents clinging to them for dear life. For me personally, the sugary smell beats every single other note into submission until nothing else cannot be perceived.

Therefore I asked a friend to try it in case they'd be having a better luck with it and indeed it was like two different perfumes. It's a rich citrusy floral woody scent on them, pleasant and intoxicating. It stays close to the skin and has a decent longevity, but doesn't overstay its welcome. Overall it's a beautifully blended fragrance that can show up very differently on different people, so you better try before you buy.

Still no coffee though.

I Actually Ordered Water
What a silly headline, but you might know what I mean?
You sit somewhere comfortably, order a glass of water, drink greedily and thirstily a huge gulp 'AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH' !!!
...and suddenly it’s there! Just like that ... out of nowhere.
WTF???!!!!
The total what the F*ck experience!
Something is not right here, but what?
This is not water at all but .... super sweet lemon soda!
By the way, the soda doesn’t taste much worse than water, even somehow better, because water generally has less flavor, but for that brief moment of confusion, you just think
'Ihhhh what is this'? *making a face*
That’s pretty much how I felt when my swap package arrived today and I eagerly doused my pulse.
( Big kiss to dear Cuoredolore at this point )
I was sooooo curious about this scent... coffee, hazelnut cream, floral stuff, and vanilla and musk ... the whole palette of sweet & sticky things that I always love, right?
Parfumo says: The scent is sweet-gourmand
Parfumo is right ...
BUT! WTF???!!!
No coffee, no hazelnut cream, no floral stuff, and no musk....
There it is again ... this total What the F*ck experience!
What is this sweet and sticky scent that’s rising to my nose right now?
I know this ... it smells like... brewery?!
Sticky sweet malt beer, Kölsch-Cola, beer garden! I am currently being overwhelmed by a total flood of images ... memories of cozy summer evenings, vacations, stopping by a cozy mountain inn after a long hike in the mountains. When the exhaustion falls away and you lean back comfortably and take a sip of ice-cold beer ....
or a glass of water, which is actually lemon soda ;-)
I find this perfume incredibly special.

A boozy orange liqueur with neroli and sharp floral notes. Deep, musky, slightly feminine.

Coffee-nut gourmand with candied fruits, panettone with too much candied orange, later Ambroxan, it lasts forever.

Creamy sweet coffee with hazelnut syrup as a flavor, but ultimately not too gourmand, so you can wear it on some days.

Very unusual for Carthusia. Completely different from the other scents. Rose, coffee, vanilla. Strong, heavy, sweet. I do like it, but...

Sour grain coffee spilled on a beer-soaked festival tent floor, then generously topped with sun nut oil. Sorry, but *ugh*.

Like these sticky nectarous buds, whose concentrated plant sweetness leans more towards caramel than floral. (Coffee?? Where?)

Too much + intrusive: Sticky sweet fruits - cloves - unharmonious - Stevia oversweetened chocolates. Pegasus and the like are flat in comparison: wash it off!

Interesting hazelnut-neroli mix. Initially captivating, but the nut dominance becomes increasingly annoying. Woody ambrox sweetness finishes it off. Hm...

Coffee, nut, and wood in a classic floral arrangement. Incredible longevity extends the gourmand experience for hours.
