Flying squirrel escapes
It's called a vacation, the sun is shining and the house is a hullabaloo. Hammer drills, angle grinders and all sorts of nice tools are doing their job and stealing my well-earned rest, somehow turning the house into a huge building site. But it's no use, what must be must be. That's what I thought, I have so much on my plate so off to the hairdresser's.
Who remembers the 80s? Styled right down to the tips of your hair, blow-dried hairstyles as far as the eye could see and held in place with lots of hairspray.
Here we are with the Avapari coconut/vanilla.
This is how I enter a salon... Hairspray clouds are in the air and I'm sitting in the chair and I see Palo Santo (it kind of happens, but he never introduced himself to me) carrying a coconut past the shop window and waving at me briefly. And that's it already.
Apart from that, I only smell this strong hairspray from that time. It took hours to counteract it.
That's just how it was, as long as the hairstyle stayed in place. I'm still looking for vanilla somewhere, but I absolutely can't find it.
Anyway, I got my hair shortened again. Ears uncovered again so that I can absorb the construction noise better *laughs*
So I'm back home and the only thing I smell is hairspray. Maybe shoe polish as @StenLaurel so aptly wrote. Erdal also had some of the devil's stuff for shoes. Not a spray, a cream. I'm sure it's been reformulated in the meantime to make shoe care more bearable.
Yes, that's a shame. I had hoped for more because coconut/vanilla is quite a nice summery combination. But no.... better test it beforehand!
Nothing for blind buyers....
Thanks to @AbscheBo for this testing opportunity

Iris, a new friend of the flying squirrel?
it could all be so nice....if it wasn't for...yes, if I hadn't been in a larger city last year, tested all the Flower - Flanker* (*doesn't really want to call it that but I can't think of anything more appropriate) in a fairly large perfume department of a somewhat larger department store and thought to myself "well, you can buy them all, I like them all". Well, it all started with the (I'll call it) Ur-Flower, years ago... And I had it in my head to collect these "maybe" (?)...and then one thing led to another. No, I don't have them all (I have to keep my wings still somehow). I was referring to the flower series, not my state of mind, which could actually be judged differently some days *grins*
I somehow got stuck with the Ikebana series and after the Mimosa I discovered the new Iris fragrance with ink. Ink...I thought: the one from the little barrel always smelled really good.
I have to mention that I only wrote with ink from the barrel and one of my mother's pens. It had a retractable tank. I really liked the smell of the ink...
But I still couldn't quite imagine ink in perfume because the lovely iris put me off a bit. We had iris in the garden and whenever I scurried around there and the scent got in my nose...oh, no, not really.
It looks beautiful, but the pure scent was nothing for the flying squirrel's nose.
It came as it had to, ... the heavily discounted International Women's Day. And once again I had nothing better to do than check my Idealo - Geizhals - saved wish lists. I thought I wasn't looking properly. Ikebana Indigo for really cheap with test samples in advance so I could send it back if I didn't like it. Absolutely nothing could go wrong, could it? So I ordered it.
Tested.... and found it sensationally good today (although there is no patchouli in it) *laughs*
But now to the fragrance:
It is to kneel down! I've never smelled such beautiful iris.
Slight metallic echo of the ink in the iris. This blend is really different and makes the fragrance something special.
I can only faintly smell jasmine. But in the base, the flattering vanilla and very light woody notes of cedar really round off this fragrance.
I am very enthusiastic. Once again....
A beautiful fragrance to start the spring. Slightly metallic, floral, not too sweet, slightly powdery, with a delicate vanilla woody finish. Just right for my not-too-sweet nose!
....da the next flower flank (cherry) is already waiting in the wings. I hope I can keep my wings still, otherwise it really won't end well for me....

Flying squirrel reaches for the stars
when I read something about a patchouli blend, something clicks somewhere in my brain. It was the same here. I only read pistachio/patchouli and was, as always, very curious. However, I have to disappoint anyone expecting a fresh spring flanker here.
This fragrance literally cuddles you in.
How you might imagine it: a gloomy day and you make yourself comfortable on the sofa with a good book, hot chocolate and your favorite blanket and let the hours pass by, lost in thought in your reading...
The fragrance opens with tart, citrusy bergamot and immediately changes to nutty pistachio. The pistachio then continues with a delicious creaminess. Only later in the base does patchouli join in. It all fits together so wonderfully. And patchouli does not gain the upper hand for me. The pistachio cream is very present in the heart note. Only after a few hours does the tart/citrusy bergamot reappear and these "only three present ingredients" create a wonderful unity.
I tried the fragrance at work and it was a great fit for the time of year, even in this cloudy/wet end-of-winter mood (early February).
For me personally, it's perfect for the onset of spring on an early walk in the forest in the rising sun or when I'm in my I-pull-my-favorite-blanket-over-my-head-and-want-nothing-more-to-do-with-the-world phase or, like today, I just let the sun shine on my face, lost in thought. Wonderful!
A beautiful fragrance for me to just think about nothing for once.
For some, this fragrance may be dismissed as musty... so I advise anyone who is curious about this pistachio cream to test it first!

the flying squirrel in the enchanted forest
a perfume with the name "once upon a time there was a forest" ... very beautiful in my opinion but still sad to think that a forest "like this" will no longer exist.
Beyond the well-trodden paths, trunks overgrown with moss. Mist with dew reflecting on the leaves. Sun trying desperately to fight its way through the fog. Pale light that makes the forest look like a fairy tale. The smallest beads of water glisten everywhere on the delicate blades of grass that make their way through the fallen leaves into the light. With every step, a crackling of dry, rotten branches, small wafts of mist rising in the warmth of the sun....
This scent reflects exactly these images in me.
The earthy vetiver and cedar, paired with the light warmth of buckwheat.
A beautiful composition.
Spray on and let your mind wander. A fragrance that lets us escape from everyday life, wherever there are no enchanted forests.
I assume this is exactly why this fragrance was given this name.
.... was once a forest....
I hope so much that such forests are not destroyed. We should think carefully about how to preserve such oases of peace, for us and for posterity. There are no more beautiful places of peace than the forest. This scent should not become a scent of memories, but a scent to feel good in.
It is not a fragrance that immediately overwhelms you. It unfolds really leisurely. I love this slightly warm, earthy, woody, green scent. Somehow it always brings you back down to earth when you're about to freak out. The longevity of "Il Était Un Bois" is very good.
This fragrance is really worth a little trip.
A journey into an enchanted forest ....

Flying squirrel's scented trip to Paris
...the first urban flower farm in France. "Plein Air Paris": a project that aims to bring people closer to natural floriculture and sensitize the world to the urgency of returning to natural, thoughtful and environmentally friendly agriculture.
This project was certainly the inspiration for the name of this perfume.
I haven't been there myself, but the pictures I found and the comments I read speak for themselves. If I travel to France at some point, I will take a look at this project.
Flower by Kenzo La Récolte Parisienne combines the wonderful poppy, which Alberto Morillas has managed to give a fragrance like no other, with a wildflower meadow blooming in all colors.
A summer's day, bright blue sky and I float through a sea of colorful flowers. A gentle wind blows with me through this magnificent meadow and a flowery scent reaches my nose.
I will never forget the day in 2000 when I walked into my favorite perfumery and my favorite chemist handed me a silky poppy flower and sprayed it with the newly released Flower by Kenzo and held it under my nose. I was speechless, I had lost all vocabulary.
If someone says poppy doesn't smell, oh yes it does!
I think everyone who knows and loves "Flower" will immediately think of him when they see a poppy flower and have him in their nose. I can't imagine my collection without Flower since that day.
Yes, and this classic "poppy scent" mixed with delicate roses and dahlias at the beginning and then joined by mandarin and vanilla, which rounds off the fragrance perfectly, is simply perfect in its entirety.
It really reminds me of a walk through a sea full of wildflowers where many scents unite into one.
The longevity is really good at over 8 hours. After this time, you can still perceive a very delicate rose embedded in vanilla.
A beautiful fragrance for all those who want a little bit of summer back and want to escape the uniform gray of the approaching winter.
I think it should not be missing in any "Flower" collection and a beautiful bottle I like the little ladybug crawling up the stem of the poppy flower
