Flying squirrel reaches for the stars
when I read something about a patchouli blend, something clicks somewhere in my brain. It was the same here. I only read pistachio/patchouli and was, as always, very curious. However, I have to disappoint anyone expecting a fresh spring flanker here.
This fragrance literally cuddles you in.
How you might imagine it: a gloomy day and you make yourself comfortable on the sofa with a good book, hot chocolate and your favorite blanket and let the hours pass by, lost in thought in your reading...
The fragrance opens with tart, citrusy bergamot and immediately changes to nutty pistachio. The pistachio then continues with a delicious creaminess. Only later in the base does patchouli join in. It all fits together so wonderfully. And patchouli does not gain the upper hand for me. The pistachio cream is very present in the heart note. Only after a few hours does the tart/citrusy bergamot reappear and these "only three present ingredients" create a wonderful unity.
I tried the fragrance at work and it was a great fit for the time of year, even in this cloudy/wet end-of-winter mood (early February).
For me personally, it's perfect for the onset of spring on an early walk in the forest in the rising sun or when I'm in my I-pull-my-favorite-blanket-over-my-head-and-want-nothing-more-to-do-with-the-world phase or, like today, I just let the sun shine on my face, lost in thought. Wonderful!
A beautiful fragrance for me to just think about nothing for once.
For some, this fragrance may be dismissed as musty... so I advise anyone who is curious about this pistachio cream to test it first!
