Well made but fades fast
This is a bright citrus fougere with a lovely opening. It develops quickly on my skin however and after only a few hours, dries down to a clean mask. This seems to be a common issue with the line from Buchart Colbert. They are lovely fragrances and have an excellent opening, but they develop and fade pretty quickly. I got the sample from one of Sebastian Jara’s sample kits and in one of his reviews, he said, they originate in Arizona. It would make sense to me. In those hot climates, fragrances are much more diffusive and last longer on the skin. I’m wondering if it’s just the combination of their environment and a considerable use of naturals that makes all of their fragrances lack longevity and projection. Nevertheless, if you don’t mind spraying more frequently, it is a beautiful fish. Nothing groundbreaking, but certainly fresh and touches on the classic style.

Smoke? What smoke?
This is meant to replicate a clean shower with a fresh lit cigarette in the foggy bathroom. All I get is a soapy clean neroli & some light woods on the dry down. It's extremely faint and unmemorable. I loved the idea. It harks back to a time when cigarette smoking was ubiquitous & universally accepted. Think the '40's through early '60's. Mad Men era. Aspects of those legacy type scents could have helped to evoke these thoughts. Sadly this is too tame. It's clearly a construction by someone who had a great idea but the execution was hampered by modern day sensibilities. Too bad.
