No "Headache Rose" or have we come to the rose?
Incredible that I can actually enjoy this scent. Rose fragrance is usually not my thing; perhaps it’s due to the abundance of artificial, piercing, and inelegant rose-scented products in candles, soaps, and washing items at drugstores and the like that surround us in everyday life.
Especially in body care, I unfortunately have to wrinkle my nose when rose appears as a fragrance note. Just recently, Balea launched such an abomination of hand soap. The "rest stop soap aesthetic" comes to mind. Or the thought of grandma's musty rose soap. Truly unsexy.
So far, so rosy.
However, this rose neither gives me a headache nor does it lead my thoughts to the aforementioned associations.
I stick with it, wearing it for a few days in a row, and I must say, I like it very much.
First comes the (presumably Bulgarian) rose. I noticed it when smelling the tester tube as well.
Once sprayed, a bitter, deep, spicy note quickly emerges on the second sniff. Very nice. As a non-fragrance professional, I assume it’s the oud. Great!
Over time, the note reminds me of a sauna visit. One of those where you sit in the steam at peace with yourself, and the infusion seeps into every pore & pulls you into deep relaxation (in a positive way!).
However, I find that once the rose has faded, the second accord remains relatively stable, which I find very unfortunate, as I am particularly drawn to the opening of LV les sables roses.
The pricing is, however, typically LV, a bit on the high side.
Questionable whether this scent will make it into my collection in full size.
