If you don't like Angel...try this
I've tried flanker after flanker of Angel and disliked most of them except one or two (the edt and Liqueur de Parfum Création 2013). I don't know why perfume hobbyists such as myself push to test over and over the same perfumes we dislike in hopes we develop a new-found love in them...

I was lucky to have a member on Fragrantica obtain a sample of this for me as a Nordstrom was not close by for testing (this was a Nordstrom exclusive for a little while; I was able to get it at Sephora today). She said it was an Angel flanker for people who don't like Angel. I took her word for it; and she was right!

The sherbet gives the perfume a nice tart bite at the beginning. This still has a bit of Angel's patchouli in the base, but it's not overwhelming by any means. The drydown is a creamy berry meringue. I finally found a flanker to love.

coconut candy
This is pretty much Beauty of Brazil repackaged for 2014. It's a sweet coconut candy, very artificial--- very fruity and creamy. I was hoping for a milky or toasted quality, but this is neither. The bottle itself looks nice, but the writing in the corner looks a bit hokey. 2014 is a no-frills scent for summer, albeit a little "sticky" for wearing in the extreme heat. It's not worth the $49 price tag to me though; I'll wait until it goes in the clearance bin where many VS fragrances inevitably end up.

Scent
mother of dupes
This smells like a lot of other tween/teen/young adult perfumes out there, most notably: Britney Spears Fantasy - The Nice Remix, Snooki, Pink Sugar (minus the burnt sugar/licorice accord), Hard Candy, Al Rehab Soft...the list goes on and on. However this is the cheapest per volume at $14.99 for a 3.4 fl oz bottle.

sweet as cream
I tested this some time ago, and I tested it again when I visited an Anthropologie shop.

I don't know what it is. but this perfume is intensely creamy and sweet. It is as if cloves, sugar, and heavy whipping cream were mixed together and made into a decadent dessert topping.

Nonetheless, I find this perfume to be a gourmand and its name is misleading. As far as I know, modern carnations do not produce a smell. I have no idea whether or not certain types of carnations have a distinct scent.

a pretty girl
This starts off with fresh orange blossoms and magnolia, very light and not as heavy-sweet on the orange blossom as Jo Malone's cologne is. The almonds are very raw, very green. This is definitely a lighter, easier to wear version of Le Parfum Intense. This is going to quickly become ones of my favorites.
