Soft Lemonwood on a Mild Evening
It is summer 2022 and we are sitting at a barbecue on the terrace of friends. We are running late this evening; it is already twilight, even though one of the warmest days of the year is just coming to an end, and consequently, it will only get truly dark very late.
The garden smells delightfully summery, and small solar lamps, which have turned on as the darkness increases, cast beautiful light on the well-kept terrace and the partly quite natural but truly lovely garden. A hint of promising anticipation wafts from the grill, teasing us with the upcoming delicacies.
But there is another note in the air:

A pure olfactory beauty. This citrusy, ethereal beauty hovers nearby but seems just out of reach. It would seem close enough to grasp if it didn’t simultaneously appear so fleeting that one immediately worries it might evaporate in an instant, leaving nothing behind.
This delicate citrus is so enchantingly beautiful that one is instantly gripped by the fear of losing this beauty again.

A feeling of happiness washes over me as I realize that I am the one who has been able to capture this delicate citrus like a heavenly breath for this mild evening.

The Allure in the Edition Blanche has been in my collection for years. For years, I have known that it is underestimated. For years, I have done it an injustice by pitting it against the Marzoccos and L'homme ideal Colognes of this world, expecting them to surpass, outpace, and leave it behind. And even this evening, I would not have worn it had my partner not expressly wished for me to wear "lemon cake" again, as she affectionately calls the Edition Blanche.

But now, as I become fully aware this evening that this enchanting delicate citrus, which lingers in the mild air, is my source, I am struck by both excitement and guilt.

Incredible how well this scent fits and projects on such a summer evening. And at the same time, it’s unbelievable that I would have hardly expected this, as on hot days its notes provide a lovely refreshment, but I have never regarded its longevity and sillage in heat and sun as particularly impressive, rather just barely sufficient.
To be honest, I have always treated this scent like a scoop of ice cream. A fleeting, refreshing private pleasure.
And if I’m honest now, I have done this scent a catastrophic injustice. It is beautiful. And also beautifully strong. Not obnoxiously strong. Or obviously strong. But refined and subtle at the right moments.
It smells better than its competitors, and it does so more clearly and distinctly. Soft lemonwood. That is the essence. That is all. And that is beautiful.

Never underestimate it! For its moment can come. Just like it did for me on the terrace. And then the moments are reproducible. If you only know how to create them...these magical moments of delicate citrus.

Thanks to the summer of 2022 and this terrace, for I have been gifted a new fragrance. And a guilty conscience.
For both, I am grateful, for to love perfume means also to constantly: be allowed to learn.

The Heavier "Peach Soleil Blanc"
This fragrance leaves me somewhat perplexed. Is it summery? Yes, it is.

But: It is heavy. Summery, but heavy.
Stuffed. Summery, but stuffed.
Sweet. Summery, but sweet.

It vaguely reminds me of sunscreen.
But not like Soleil Blanc, which simply smells like good sunscreen,
but sweeter, more feminine, and penetrating.
Sweet and stuffed-creamy. Peach dominates the creaminess.
However, this should not be understood as the scent smelling like peach cream.
It smells like sweet peach syrup in cream. With more peach than cream.

This fragrance has power. But no weightlessness. Those seeking that must look elsewhere.
The bergamot desperately tries to fight against the sweetness,
but it remains hopeless and dies a sweet death - in nectar-like heaviness.
If the combination of peach with vanilla, amber, jasmine, and coconut does not evoke the association of a light summer peach, then one has a chance to be reinforced in their expectations and not to run against the sweet-heavy-peach wall. This fragrance is perfect for all those looking for a sweeter peach counterpart to Soleil Blanc, etc.
However, for those seeking a summer fragrance that is also light and pleasant during the day, Euphoria is at least not an ideal blind-buy candidate.

In my opinion, the fragrance is more feminine than unisex, but that is for everyone to decide for themselves.
What exactly this release "on the occasion of the EM" means will likely remain the eternal secret of the Birkholz house.

Conclusion: Beautiful, sweet fragrance with peach. But indeed very sweet.

Beautiful Fresh Rhubarb
This scent is much better than its reviews here. You just have to know what to expect from it and what not. This fragrance is not a rhubarb pie, not a vanilla-rhubarb treat, and it doesn’t reinvent the Roja DNA. This scent is a fresh, masculine citrus-rhubarb-wood fragrance that beautifully clear and tidy offers exactly what freshies are supposed to offer. It is not hyper-complex, but that was never its claim as Elysium either. It smells like a fresh day in April or May. Nothing more, but also nothing less. I personally find it really successful.
