I have been desperately searching for something that smelled of fall afternoons mushroom foraging in the forests of the Pacific Northwest in a misty rain. Tho I live here, sometimes you just need to go to a certain time and place with a swiftness.

I'm so glad some fellow traveller on the fragrance subs recommend this.... totally nailed it, the sword ferns, soil, and mushroom are the show stoppers here with the evergreen trees mingling in the background.

This perfume literally smells like my life. Love it.

I saw a write up about Poivre Rubis here on the site and went immediately to order a sample.

I love pepper based perfumes and the pepper heavy profile with raspberry seemed intriguing.

I'm so glad I ordered the sample - it's even better than I expected. The pepper notes are complex with so many in the mix, and the raspberry soars and lingers. Projection was strong but inoffensive and the staying power saw me through a day at class into a late evening dinner. I don't often receive compliments on my fragrance but I had several people throughout the day ask what I was wearing - Poivre Rubis stands out!

Beyond raving about the scent - I was struck that perfumer Benjamin Sachs took the time to send a hand written card along with the sample. World class!

Will be buying the full bottle and more samples from this house. Don't sleep on Mr. Sachs creations!
