Creating a Feeling with Scents

I had a big meeting at work this morning - one of those 'asking for a promotion' type meetings, where I needed to go in and say things I'm really not comfortable saying about how awesome I am. I'm just really bad at tooting my own horn in general.

I use clothing (bright, but professional colors), makeup (red power lipstick) and scents to create a feeling of 'kick ass.' I knew I wanted to feel absolutely bathed in scent today, where I got a whiff with my every move, so even while I was having the conversation I'd have a reminder of 'kick ass smell.'

Important to note - I worked at home today, so the only person who had to deal with this scent bubble other than me was my husband, and he's used to it.

First layer - Hempz triple moisture body lotion. I love Hempz lotion, and this version smells like peaches. It doesn't really project or provide much scent beyond initial application, and fades into a nice background juicy addition to anything else.

Second layer - mix of two body sprays: Figue du Foret from Le Monde Gourmand and Cheirosa '62 from Sol de Janeiro to add a little much needed sweetness to the bitter smell of the Figue du Foret. I really dislike the bitter note there.

YSL - Libre Intense. I love Libre. Wore the OG on my wedding day, and find the intense version to be perfectly as described - Libre with just a little extra oompf. Which is what I needed today!

I have all of the libre expressions except Platine, and Intense is definitely my favorite so far. I did notice Platine on sale yesterday on a certain website and was considering it if I had something to celebrate, but alas I do not. :( Anyway...

It is now 5 hours after application and I still have a nice, close to the skin scent going. Usually by now I'd be looking to reapply, but this combo has worked very nicely and stuck around.

As for my supposed promotion - well, that wasn't quite as successful. It was a good meeting at least, and I found a new scent combination I like, so I guess I'll take that as a win!

Anyone else have any good 'kick ass' scents or combos they love? I could use suggestions for the next time I have to have this discussion, because it will (unfortunately or not) be happening again soon.
