I just wish it lasted longer (said the actress to the bishop)
This frag is seriously underrated!

Fresh, herby, spicy and powdery... In a good way.

I used to live near a Shultons factory as a kid and I'm pretty sure they made this along with old spice, rapport and others. My school was just down the road but you could smell it for miles. Serious nostalgia.
This along with the above was used as currency to swap in the local pubs by those that worked there lol.

Anyway, I digress....
Mandate is one of my favourite budget Fragrances. I can't remember how the original formula smelled exactly but I'm sure it would have lasted a whole lot longer. This is gone in an hour to two at the very most, if you're lucky. Wear it outside in the cold or wind, 45 mins.

It's such a shame as it's versatile and I don't think it's that dated. You can definitely get away with it now.

You have to get mad on the trigger and on clothes but it's worth it.

Again underrated and excellent value for money.

Is that cumin in the opening!?
Dad after the pub lol....
This has such nostalgia for me but I'm sure it smelled a bit different.

The current formula is a bit much in the opening, and, I do smell citrus but there's a clean armpit thing going on. Is it cumin? What do others think?

It dries down to a powdery scent with musk and moss but it's synthetic, and the citrus comes through a little more. I smell the patchouli but that cumin-esk smell is always there. Regardless I keep sniffing it on my arm when it's sprayed... It's addictive.

This is great value for money either way at £10 for 100ml. A good choice for those on a budget.

It's all in the heart.... What a stunner.
This was yet another blind buy off the back of Kelans (hope I've spelled that right) at scents of South Jersey review.

I bought one man show and this together and this is by far my favourite of the two. Not as loud and more classy. It does definitely share a similarity with paco rabanne pour homme. As it dries down there's a bit of quorum in there too, others might disagree.

I have read reviews saying that it smells like the fluid from a pickled jar of chillies, and, I can see that but it's not offensive... Well to me anyway. That doesn't last for long and what you're left with is a classy, foresty, leathery and slightly spicy beaut. This, a leather biker jacket and you're on your way ;-)

You can definitely smell the rosemary in the opening and the "pickle jar" smell may come from that and the orange combined!? Hmm...
If you lightly layer this with paco rabanne pour homme it dulls that pickle jar smell I've found.

Anyway this was well worth the money at £18 and with the cost of living crisis in the Britain you'd definitely get your monies worth.

All in all a stunning classic, by in my opinion, one of the best priced houses out there. Bang for buck.

Hmmm a bit of a love hate thing going on...
OK, I may get a few eye rolls from this haha....
I'm seriously not sure whether I love it or can't stand it, it depends on my mood. It's like listening to the Beatles for me lol (I know they have nothing to do with fragrance haha).

I wear this at home and it really fits on a winter or autumn evening but to go out it would have to be something that would exactly fit the scent. It definitely isn't versatile in my opinion. The tarragon in the opening is so overpowering and then you get the rose (which I don't really like in men's frags).

I have a very similar feeling about Lapidus pour homme (it's the honey). But, when it dries down the creamy powdery scent is great although can be sickly if over sprayed. I wouldn't wear this in summer that's for sure.

This however does not take away how much or a complex and well crafted fragrance this is! It really is a masterpiece of it's era but I'm not sure I can get away with wearing it out here. I'd be interested to see if anyone gets cross age compliments and especially in the UK!?

Soapy masculinity in a bottle.
I bought this as a blind buy after watching scents of South Jersey which is one of my favourite reviewers.

This frag is a classic but by me definitely not out of date. I wear this a lot and have made a big dent in the bottle. I get compliments from all ages and the younger folks just say it smells really clean, where as the 30+ say it smells like you could buy it now which I was surprised at.
But that's what I received in the north of England. I think reactions and opinions all depend on country and region/area.

I find the dry down definitely to be the best part as is settles and the opening can be a tad harsh if you don't go easy on the trigger. As for longevity it's not mega beast mode but I get 4 hours on skin and more on clothes. It is more of a cold weather frag but if sprayed lightly it will do summer and definitely spring. I've never tried the vintage version so maybe that had better longevity?

The price is really good at between £20 and £25 (I paid £23 or something).

It has a similarity to quorum and rapport to me but less harsh and better quality.

I will definitely buy more when it runs out. Not my favourite classic but it's up there. Again another defense against the sugar and bubble gum attack.
