This opens to me unexpectedly fresh and masculine coded, reminding me immediately of my father's and grandfather's shaving foam.
Classic fougère notes mingle with a deep, resinous amber vanilla layer, that get's stronger by the minute!
It's comforting, luxurious and makes me want to lean in and continue sniffing!

I have loved impressionism paintings ever since discovering Claude Monet's water lilies and Vincent Van Gogh's sunflowers in 4th grade primary school.

And this is what I perceive this scent as.

Note bleeds into note, only soft edges.
Luminosity, a play of light, a bright style.
A snapshot of real life, rather than a prepared and staged composition.
An expression of perception rather than a try of exact replication.
Subjective, luminous.

Upon first spray this scent is strong and the synthetic musks are almost overwhelming, they are sappy, sweet and sticky. A heavy dose of vanillics and sweet woods, some soft bitter spices titillating on the edges and the faintest glimmer of something icy and piney.
The scent lives on my skin, getting brighter by the minute and bigger, but it doesn't change in composition. It never collapses, but feels a bit tamer after a while.
The afterglow is intimate, the musks have calmed down, but the picture is still there in its entirety.

Worn outside in fresh air, "en plein air" , the scent kicks into high gear, all facets shimmer even brighter and more luminous, a beautiful, golden, scintillating veil!

Do I usually prefer natural perfumes and notes? Yes, I do. Am I quite sensitive to synthetic musks and woods? Also, yes.
But does that mean I can't wear this scent? No, it doesn't.

In my opinion, this is modern perfumery done right and I effing adore this perfume, but dosing needs a careful hand, so it doesn't overpower you.

I'm still nursing my sample, which is at least 2 years old by now, and the perfume has turned from light gold to a beautiful light purple. The vanilla improves over time and gets fuller and sweeter.

When I run out if this, I will be purchasing at least the travel size, because this is a modern but timeless grown up vanilla that fits in my collection nicely!

Why is this so day dream invoking?
Turquoise blue waves rolling in, my toes buried in soft white sands, palm trees swaying overhead, a slight warm breeze caressing my neck and the scent of lush green vegetation wafting over. I feel completely at ease.
I want a drink with sugar, lime and coconut, I want a humid summer night, a want a slow dance with a stranger under a starry and inky sky.

Love Don't Be Shy Perfume and I have a difficult relationship!
I absolutely adore her on hot summer days and I am completely overwhelmed by her on colder days.
To me this scent works best on hot and humid days and it really awakens on sweaty, heated skin. Then it's full of delicious sweetness, woven together by blossoms and marshmallows , tickling your nose and a musky, rosey, ambery base the lets the scent swirl and swirl! It makes you feel sensual, sexy and bold!

On cold days, craving a reminder of better sunny days it sadly doesn't work for me.
The top notes are there, the blossoms and even the marshmallow but then the scent stops developing and I get an animalic note then doesn't really want to mingle with my skin, it just sits atop and becomes slightly screechy.

To me a masterpiece none the less, an eternal summer beauty and a bold and sensual statement!

The first whiff of this scent made my eyes roll back in my head!

It's a delicious citrusy/sweet/balsamic/spicy/musky composition, never veering into cleaning product territory at all, that slowly develops into a little story on your skin!

In the top notes I get a tasty realistic orange, accompanied by the other citrus fruits and the tea notes already peaking through.

Warming up the balsamic notes start transforming the scent into something very cuddly and comforting, the vanilla starting it's seductive blossoming!

All the notes are now shifting back and forth, sometimes more citrus and tea, sometimes more balsamic and sweet, like a soft silk shawl flowing around you.

In the dry down the musk and resins properly peak through the veil and transform the scent into something intimate.
Slightly spicy, musky, vanilla, very well rounded and not the typical melange you would expect, because the tea notes cling on and uplift.

To me this composition is special, creative and timeless!
