A Powder Dream
Shortly after my entry here on Parfumo, I dove into the world of classics and discontinued treasures from the past, and of course, I couldn't miss "Boudoir (Eau de Parfum) | Vivienne Westwood." I absolutely wanted to get my hands on this fragrance. It wasn't easy to find a decant. Understandably, many owners guard their precious drops like a treasure. Eventually, however, a kind perfumer sent me a decant. I was smitten... and I desperately wanted a bottle in my collection. You can still find it on various platforms or sometimes in the souk, if you're willing to part with a kidney, your house cat, or other valuables for a leftover bottle. Last autumn, I got lucky and snagged a travel spray at a great price, only to find out that it was the "Sparkling" version (not listed here and I found only sparse information about it online), apparently a lighter summer variant. Nice, but not "Boudoir (Eau de Parfum) | Vivienne Westwood."

Shortly after, I read about the new release and was thrilled when I could order a bottle from the online shop.

Today was finally the day, despite the "record winter" and announcements urging people to stay home and avoid the streets, DHL rang the bell and brought me "Boudoir (Eau de Parfum) (2025) | Vivienne Westwood."

Boudoir Eau de Parfum is clearly recognizable, but as my predecessor mentioned, it's tamer, more polite, and not quite as loud. Less aldehydes and no animalic notes, more flowers and delicate, sweet powder. Boudoir Eau de Parfum is obviously loud, extravagant, and erotic, while Boudoir (2025) Eau de Parfum is more pleasing, modern, subtly sexy, and suitable for everyday wear. Even after 5 hours, I can still perceive it well on myself, albeit more discreetly than the original.

I am very happy with this beautiful fragrance in my collection and have been sniffing at my wrists for hours. A very successful, modern reinterpretation.
