Today like this (pepper), tomorrow like this (cocoa)
As with Olfie, I also came to the Extrait de Parfum via the rapid transience of "Cacao Aztèque (Eau de Parfum) | Perris Monte Carlo". So far, I have had very different experiences with the fragrance. I typically apply it after showering. The first thing I notice is that the alcohol used in the extrait de parfum with the fragrance oils is relatively thick on the skin. I typically apply 2 sprays on my wrists and 2 on my neck. The opening and especially the sillage, which you inhale on the neck itself, is very peppery in most cases. This is intensified by cold and dry air. In the dry cold, the extrait de parfum becomes a pepper cracker. With 3 sprays on the neck, it was even too much for me recently and then I find it too scratchy. The fragrance changes dramatically for me when I apply it in warm, humid air. Then it is a light peppery start followed by a cozy cocoa that envelops all other scents and is not sweet. This made me think about the weather/climate in Central America, the life of the Aztecs and cacao. For me, it is a special fragrance because the dominance of the pepper creates a certain void between the pepper and the other ingredients. It contains virtually no sweetness and has a dry to scratchy quality. If you own the fragrance and fancy it, you know in advance that you're in for a really intense experience.
