Lavender fields
In 2019, I went to an Eddie Vedder concert in Barolo, IT. We lived in an old villa (with a winery) and traveled around the area, as we usually do on such trips. What times…
We went to a small village known for its lavender fields (Sale San Giovanni). I got out of the car into a field like that and took a breath - that's what HJ Vert Galant smells like.
A beautiful, spacious lavender in the opening. Later there is light labdanum and amber. The scent is slightly powdery, but just right - not too much.
Another hit from HJ. Well, I'm very impressed.

What a citrusy!
My skin doesn't like citrus scents. I wear Dima's (Bortnikoff) citrus fruits best, probably because they are overcome quite quickly by the other ingredients, and the combination of oud and citrus fruits gives a nice effect. Uden also fits quite nicely.
But…
No. 11 opens with citrus, and lavender arrives quite quickly. The combination may not be very exciting for me, even though it's the same lavender that accompanies several already tested HJ fragrances (Vert Galant which is great), but it's not bad here. Bergamot, however, dominates and is quite juicy, slightly "sour", like a ripe lemon.
After about 2 hours we enter a slightly floral phase, pleasant for the nose and the surroundings. The scent becomes slightly aromatic. This phase is very nice.
In the base, the scent sweetens slightly, but not excessively. It "sits" nicely on the skin.
It reminds me light breeze from the warm sea. I think that on a really warm day the scent will show its true power.
The quality - as usual with HJ - is flawless.
And unfortunately, it's about the price ️ or maybe - at least for some people - it's mainly about that. It's expensive. But great.

Masterpiece of Oud
If I were to recommend a fragrance based on real oud to someone so that they would know what it really is, it would definitely be Oud Yusuf. Seemingly linear, but with lots of flavors that are constantly released from the skin.
A beautiful, clean oud scent. I also know him from an oud sample that Areej once added to The History of Oud series.
A deep scent that lingers beautifully on the skin.
Masterpiece!

Amazing desert…
One of my favorite everyday scents.
It fits my skin very nicely, I have the older version, so it stays on my skin all day long.
A very good composition - woody and aromatic, with good quality ingredients.
I haven't been to the desert yet, but if it smells like Andy described it, I would like to go there someday :)

Apricot oud
One of my first fragrances from Dima.
I have an older version (wooden cap): complex, deep, with perfectly defined apricot, covered with high-quality oud.
Woody notes mixed with light vanilla and fruity notes. It is not too sweet, rather dry, a trained nose will detect notes of the animal, but they are so intertwined with the scent that they are almost imperceptible at all.
I think, this fragrance is mixed masterfully.
An extremely comfortable fragrance that gives you the opportunity to get to know the craftsmanship of the Bortnikoff brand.
Highly recommended!
