My lovely wife compares this fragrance to a fabric softener and has asked me to apply it in her absence.

This probably applies to the head note, which is quite strongly ambroxane-heavy (ambroxane can trigger allergies) after spraying, because a little later the fragrance is perceived as more pleasant.
