Chance
One might not believe it, but I discovered this wonderful fragrance in South Africa. I lived there with my family for 3 years in Port Elizabeth. One day, a friend came to the beach and enveloped me in this cloud of scent. I was blown away. Never before had I smelled anything like it, what could it be? She had just returned from a vacation in Germany and had fallen in love with this fragrance at Duty Free, just as I did. The next Duty Free purchase was, of course, mine; I could hardly wait to hold this elegant, warm, floral, sensual gem in my hands. Since I bought the travel bottle, I also give more points for the bottle, as I really like it and it is practical too. It accompanies me on every trip, safe and space-saving. A toast to Chanel.

La Vie est Belle
Who wouldn't want to smell like Julia Roberts? I confess, I bought the perfume because of the advertisement with Julia and made a blind purchase. I have not regretted it. I love this heavy, floral, and sensual scent that can accompany me all day and envelop me. I like the longevity; I don't like fragrances that need to be reapplied constantly. Men apparently don't like it as much, but one is woman enough to decide that for herself.

Ballahé / The Scent of 1001 Nights
I was the only one of us girls who used this indescribable scent. I loved it dearly, nothing came close to it. The original is unbeatable, the successors are okay. I still use it today and am always happy when I manage to find a decent successor somewhere.
The only scent that men actually recognized back then (I was thrilled when one approached me directly, I could hardly believe it, that was quite remarkable at the time, as men weren't as obsessed with fragrances as they are today). Unfortunately, as always, when something smells good and you’ve got the women hooked, it disappears again.
