… when hearts are beating …“
Another old song that now rests in the drawer labeled “long forgotten.”
What a shame!
But to stay on topic: isn’t it wonderful to be in love, to feel that multitude of colorful butterflies fluttering in your stomach?
The heart beats too fast, the skin is softly flushed with a rosy hue, the eyes shine more beautifully than the most precious gemstones!
To immortalize these exciting, all-consuming feelings in a fragrance is surely the goal of every perfumer. Whether it is achieved is decided by the lovers of these scents, who love to surround themselves with them.
“Amore Mio,” this enchanting fragrance creation of love and lovers, was actually built in the well-known Roja manner: first the freshness of the hesperides, then romantic seduction in the grand floral garden à la Grasse, and finally the magic of spices and woods, warm, spicy, and balsamic.
As simple as that sounds (almost a bit boring: this predictable repetition of the structure), each individual fragrance composition unfolds surprisingly!
At the outset, we traverse a grove of hesperides, whose composition changes from scent to scent.
One wanders among citrus trees, in the shade of the dark green lacquered leaves that rustle softly and perform changing light plays.
The aromas of the sun-warmed wood of the trunks and foliage awaken the senses quietly and playfully.
Sometimes, I wouldn’t be surprised if Apollo stepped out from a nearby thicket and calmly selected the “golden apple of the hesperides” among the ripe, gleaming fruits in the dark foliage to later present it to Aphrodite.
With “Amore Mio,” this is not the case: the fragrance weave of bergamot and mandarin is simple, clear, and fruity-fresh.
Young and almost innocently buoyant, this fragrance begins before it enters the summery, endlessly delightful floral garden with all its beauties: just the sight is splendor and joy, not to mention the fragrance development on the skin!
Colorful, lavishly fragrant flowers everywhere, visited by thick bumblebees, lively buzzing insects, and many butterflies. Some linger there in the sun, seemingly enjoying the intense fragrance diversity that surrounds them.
This fragrance impression spreads richer and richer on my skin over time.
Of course, the Grasse rose is also present, also known as the May rose: a particularly special type of fragrant rose that is being cultivated again for the perfume industry after years of being forgotten and now bears rich blooms.
It appears accompanied by white flowers: sensual, slightly animalistic jasmine aromas, heart-warming orange blossoms with a delicate scent, and balsamic neroli gifts unite with the abundance of fragrant roses.
This bouquet is loosely arranged and tied with ylang-ylang vines adorned with flowers before stronger fragrance notes of the existing splendor adapt:
Cistus with its small pink flowers, which always appear a bit crumpled, releases its spicy, very unique aroma, generously sharing wood and leaf green.
The previously softly flowing fragrance progression becomes somewhat more robust due to them, containing small thorns and barbs here and there; thus, the floral splendor already appears stronger before violet fragrance notes of violet and heliotrope mix in heavily and intensely: the previous liveliness and carefree cheerfulness become more sensual, corporeal, and mature.
“Amore Mio” loses a bit of its fragrance innocence.
In return, warming, stimulating spices like ginger, pepper, and other exotics now take the fragrance scepter: they accompany all the floral notes before woody, aromatic, and balsamic additions, which appear in a variety of fragrance notes and refined dosages, lead to a magical fragrance finale.
Who names all the ingredients woven in here; that would be tedious, boring, and also unnecessary: after all, there is the fragrance pyramid for that.
Here and there, however, aromatic-sensual sandalwood and moist, earthy patchouli peek out from the fragrance weave; warm, erotic vanilla accompanied by tonka bean appears and is supported by a good splash of dark rum before the proud and elegant iris generously swings its powder puff in conclusion.
Together with the slightly animalistic musk, it weaves a powdery-soft fragrance net with smoky-glittering amber inclusions that it lovingly spreads over this entire creation with all its secrets and beauties.
Sillage and longevity are no longer an issue with Roja fragrances: both are truly exceptional: if you like it, you like it!
Thus, “Amore Mio” also envelops richly and durably; this fragrance being accompanies through many romantic hours, regardless of what time of day they take place: this fragrance is time-neutral!
With “Amore Mio,” the fragrance trilogy “Profumi d’Amore” begins, in which the individual phases of love are described in scent.
After the romance of “Amore Mio,” “Ti Amo” is a declaration of love in fragrance form, and “Un Amore Eterno” stands for love in eternity.
I really like this opening of the collection with its rich fragrance romance of awakening love.
Softly and tenderly, instead of rushing forward, this composition presents itself: beat by beat - note by note: it wants to be carefully cherished, this still shy young love, it must not be startled!
How this trilogy develops, what the other two fragrances tell, I may not be able to witness; but to be a witness to this phase of a fragrant fresh love has already been worthwhile.
Imaginary colorful fragrance butterflies, eternal companions of the lovers, flutter around me; I am enveloped in a rich variety of flowers and aromas.
A charming fragrance romance that awakens memories, I got to know thanks to Gelis.
It is lovely, this first time of love, and in “Amore Mio” it has found a fitting fragrance.
