Secret Treasure
For several weeks, I was planning my trip to London, eagerly looking at the website of the French manufacturer, which initially revealed to me that I would encounter 3 exclusive fragrances in the English department store.
Weeks pass, and the day has finally come; I can hardly contain my excitement as I finally enter the extremely elegant boutique on the 6th floor. I politely ask the saleswoman about the exclusives, and to my astonishment, there are now 5 beautiful bottles in front of me. They are all sprayed on me one by one, but one particularly catches my attention from the very beginning. The citrusy floral opening is quickly overtaken by a beautiful old-school combination, presenting me with a coriander like I have never smelled before. I spray the fragrance on myself and tell the very nice saleswoman that I would need to think about it due to the price.
Now I stroll through all of London with this beautiful scent, and I even receive a compliment from a middle-aged lady on the subway, something that has hardly happened to me in Vienna. That was a sign for me.
The fragrance accompanied me all day, with a scent trail that I found to be extremely strong.
The next morning, I enter the department store again and head straight to the boutique to make this little treasure my own.
Now, let’s get into the details of the fragrance.
As mentioned above, it starts with a rather citrusy note, which is quickly paired with the robust coriander and the lovely plum. In my eyes, this fragrance is an absolute dream for all lovers of vintage DNAs.
Personally, I would describe it as a blend of many old Guerlains.
One can debate the price, as is customary with the brand, but for me personally, it is worth every cent, and I hope my review inspires some to visit the beautiful house during their next stay in London.
With such a great discovery early in the year, I am curious to see if it can be topped.
