Powerful Juice

This is my most potent fragrance in my collection. My skin normally drinks fragrances like an athlete drinking water to rehydrate…not The Moon.

This is a gorgeous and I mean gorgeous raspberry oud cocktail. It is loud so apply with being cognizant of others. I usually apply 1-2 sprays. That’s it. It will go as long as you want it to go. Seriously. If you don’t wash it off, it will stay on skin overnight. Sometime I test fragrances during the evenings and I wore this to bed. I couldn’t sleep because it was so distracting. I had to get up and wash it off. That only removed the fragrance sitting on top of my skin and not the fragrance that seeped into the tissue.

If you wear this during a hot day, you will smell like delicious raspberry sorbet. The oud in here is perfect. I’m not an oud guy but this is what I would like all my oud fragrances to be. Just enough to know it’s there and not being the main accord.

I love The Moon and it is my favorite from the desert gem collection.

Amberwood galore

If it weren’t for the excessive use of that amberwood that gives you headaches The Moon would be a great scent. Unfortunately, it’s designed for people who demand attention by using a loud perfume. Promise is the same story : it makes your nose bloody and your sinuses scream :)).
Coming back to The Moon, the sweetness plus the smoke and the oud are just divine, excellent composition but the “big throtle” on the performance ruined it for me.

I got a sample of The Moon last week and I got to say it's one of the best things I've ever smelled in my life, as I literally jumped with excitement when I did. The raspberry and oud in it smells so sensual and expensive.. Definitely getting a bottle of it in a couple of months ( I need time, cause it's a pricey fragrance )

The Moon is a warm floral opulent perfume which meets an abundance of ripe red berries, mixed with high quality oud oil which is not skanky.

Sometimes, a perfume is much more than the sum of its notes .. and here is the case. The Moon is an oriental perfume, done by the book by master Parfumer Julien Rasquinet, which gets his inspiration from the Middle East. Julien lives in Paris and Dubai and he is very inspired by the Middle East culture so his creations have mainly oriental notes like oud, rose, saffron and frankincense.

Frederic Malle is an editor of perfumes, he finds creative Perfumers, discuss about an idea and offers them unlimited budget and then adds their work to the line-up. Julien Rasquinet is a young Perfumer who got his training from the Master Perfumer Pierre Bourdon, the creator of French Lover – FM, Green Iris Tweed – Creed, etc.

The Moon plays a leading role in the life in the Middle East, It symbolizes the beginning and end of all festivity. Yet in Arabic, invoking the moon is also an allusion to romance — ‘my moon’; a term that speaks of beauty and eternal devotion. The Moon is telling a celestial love story.

This perfume is part of the Desert Gems Collection which also include : Promise, The Night and Dawn and was created as a collection paying homage to Middle Eastern perfumery by the greatest perfumers in the world.

I know this is an expensive scent and I know that you can get Fidelis and have similar notes, but not all the times if you mix the same ingredients twice, you get the same result.
