The Carefree Lightness of Being...
How time doesn't pass...as I doze here in my sun lounger on a sunny Sunday, looking out at the field in front of me. It invites dreaming, as I get an impression of how the vast lavender fields in Provence might look.
I get this impression because the field has not yet been mowed due to ecological farming. Therefore, the grass is very high, has lots of purple tips, and indeed looks like lavender.
Unfortunately, the matching scent is missing!! But wait...what am I writing. A spritz of Beau de Jour, and the opening is perfect. Dreamy lavender, with the perfect backdrop that couldn't be better...
I really like this intense beginning from Beau. This is certainly not to everyone's taste, and I am not an explicit lavender fan either. But since it is just the intense opening, I really enjoy it.
The lightness of being then develops in the course of its presence. And this presence is almost omnipresent. In my still short time of intense perfume research, I have not experienced a scent that possesses such radiance.
I am fascinated when a fragrance simply exists for many hours and does not just disappear like many of its colleagues...
Once the intense opening settles, the whole fragrance becomes much softer. A beautiful creaminess and warmth emerge, which can certainly be attributed to the patchouli and amber. I can also repeatedly perceive a hint of mint, which gives the fragrance a certain freshness throughout. Lastly, of course, the lavender does its part and carries the fragrance throughout its entire spectrum of effects...

For me, Beau de Jour, by the way, I am writing about the signature line, is a true enrichment for my scent (er-)life. When a fragrance can create an aura capable of transforming even a dreary day into something beautiful, then it convinces me completely.
This creates exactly that carefree lightness of being, which in today's world, plagued by stress and haste, is often very hard to find.
As for me, I wish to experience many more such moments, ideally here on board the "scent ship" Parfumo, which is on its way to the endless expanses of scent creations and impressions that no human has ever smelled before...:-)
Thank you for reading!

What Remains of the Day...
I have become a relatively new resident and a true fan of this community, and have been fascinated by great fragrances my whole life.
Now I want to write down my impressions, but about the Explorer, as there are already so many reviews about Aventus. However, I want to compare both fragrances.
I received the Explorer as a sample card, and was already impressed after the first test how much it reminded me of Aventus. I sprayed the fragrance for work, relatively little, but I could perceive the scent well throughout the day.
That's why I wanted to compare both fragrances, Aventus and Explorer, directly via test strips. I came to the following impressions...

For me, the Explorer starts off very strongly alcoholic. It has an almost piercing note.
From the typical Aventus scent, I can't perceive much on the test strip yet. Rather, almost nothing.
When I then sprayed Aventus on a test strip, this phenomenally wonderful fruity pineapple vibe immediately came through...simply outstanding.
I couldn't detect that with the Explorer.
Also, the overall presence and radiance of Aventus is much stronger. This characteristic of Aventus remains in the foreground, especially in the initial phase.
As time goes on...as I said on test strips, the characteristic scent of the Explorer slowly develops more. However, I notice another thing very strongly. And I can always pinpoint this with Creed fragrances. It is this wonderful creaminess. I’ll just call it that, because Aventus feels so soft and smooth compared to the Explorer.
This means that the Explorer is and remains simply more angular.
Nevertheless, the Explorer catches up over time. The scent becomes more tangible and present, which leads to a relative alignment of both fragrances as time goes on. At least according to my perception.
I think that the Explorer, when considered as a whole, definitely smells great. I also like it in terms of longevity and sillage. Even at the end of the day, I can still perceive it well.

To answer my headline, what remains of the day is a scent that is quite similar to Aventus, which is probably hardly distinguishable from the great original in everyday use. When you also consider the price component, I find the Explorer worth considering.
Nevertheless, I miss the presence, the glow, and also the creaminess of the original...
