Oud Zhen was recommended to me by a perfumer and I added it to my collection blindly. The opening reminds me of incense sticks like those used in temples in Thailand, but more and more notes emerge, developing into an olfactory masterpiece. I look forward to smelling this fragrance every time, and despite the multitude of scents I have tested so far, only Russian Adam has managed to evoke this feeling.
This smoky oriental DNA, which forms the base note in most fragrances of the current collection, truly represents a form of art for me.
Oud Zhen evolves beautifully throughout the day and remains distinctly noticeable even after many hours.
The sillage is already very strong right after spraying and envelops you in a lovely cloud that is never too overpowering.
The bottle also looks incredibly beautiful, and all in all, this fragrance is highly recommended for anyone who really wants to experience exclusive and sophisticated oud.
Of all the Russian Adam fragrances I have tested so far, this one is, for me, the undisputed number 1.

After the first test, I thought to myself, wait, I know this from somewhere, and indeed the opening in the first seconds reminds me of Alexandria 2. However, this impression fades quickly, and a rose-oud combination develops that I have never smelled in such a perfect form before. The individual notes are perfectly balanced here and deliver a beautiful performance with just a few sprays (in my case, 3). After a while, the fragrance becomes even softer, and the balsam rounds off the heart note very well.
Having now tried several oriental fragrances, I must say this one has the potential to become my signature scent. The oud in Shouq is the cherry on top and never dominates the other fragrance notes, neither does it come across as medicinal or animalistic, and it harmonizes beautifully with the sandalwood and musk.
The longevity is, in my view, above average, and the bottle looks very beautiful as well. Unfortunately, due to the abundance of rose oud fragrances, such treasures often get overlooked too quickly.
All in all, a fantastic experience that I can recommend to any oriental fragrance fan.
