Is it me or is my nose completely off balance?
After listening to many reviews and seeing that this fragrance had some notes that I loved, I blind bought a bottle. Here's how it played out for my nose. The first 30-60 minutes is a cinnamon power bomb similar to sniffing liquid "Red Hot" candy. It overwhelmed my nose and I couldn't smell anything else. After an 1-2 hours I could pick up the clove and vanilla but cinnamon was still the primary scent. Unfortunately no tobacco detected. In the far dry down it was mainly cinnamon, clove, Tonka with a little vanilla. It's the strongest and longest lasting scent I have in my collection staying 10-12 hours on my skin but disappointingly it's weighted to heavy with the cinnamon and clove and not enough with Tobacco and dried fruit. A more suitable scent for me is Frank Boclet's Tobacco which is a much more balanced fragrance although it has only 1/3 the longevity and projection which seems to be just right. I ended up using 1 spray of Amber Oud Tobacco for a base with 3 sprays of Tobacco over the top to layer. I just make sure I'm not around people for the first hour until it's smooths out.
Autumn scent with a cozy chill vibe
I smelled this several times over the years off a test strip and was less than impressed. I couldn't figure out why there was so much hype from all the You tube reviewers out there. On my third testing at a Sephora I sprayed it on the back of my hand and wrist and without smelling it directly continued to shop. While waiting in line at the register 30 minutes later I caught a whiff of it and was shocked to realize that the scent was giving off an addictive mild dry boozy smell. It's a wonderful warm cozy rum and vetiver scent with a mild dose of smooth tobacco and a touch of suede and vanilla. This truly smells like Autumn in a bottle to me. I instantly had to get it. Definitely not a big projector but has decent longevity and is extremely pleasant to the nose in the dry down. It's a unique scent that you can wear September to May, night or day. I'm very glad to have it in my collection.
