Drink rum and coke in a cozy jazz bar.
...who serve their own cinnamon cookies.

On the test strip, Volutes actually smells sweetly of cola. It's totally unfamiliar at first and you wonder if you want to smell like that. As I smell my way through all the fragrances at the Diptyque stand, I keep returning to the Volutes test strip to take a sniff. When applied to the skin, it smells less like cola (kind of in the background) and more like spices, honey and blond tobacco. You can definitely smell the iris too, as it gives the fragrance that typical powdery aspect. The tobacco doesn't smell like a cigarette, but like a packet of dried tobacco leaves that have become a little damp. Despite its sweetness, it is not heavy, but it is not a fresh scent either, but rather resinous and powdery.

It is unisex with a slightly feminine touch, which gives the fragrance its warmth. It is definitely a room in which both sexes spend time. I think it's really great. Personally, however, it's more of a fragrance that I have to be in the mood for, so I wouldn't wear it as a signature. Nevertheless, I use it a lot, especially in the fall or when it's really rainy and cold. Especially recommended for those who like to wear L'heure Bleue by Guerlain or like this type of fragrance.

Sillage is moderate and the longevity is good - lasts longer than other edp's from Diptyque.

Between horse riding and expensive handbags
Expensive, but also smells expensive. Sellier is talked about far too rarely. Most Byredo's are already great fragrances, but also often somehow "empty"?

Sellier, on the other hand, smells luxurious, memorable and mysterious. Naturally leathery, somewhat tart, dry and then there's something slightly fruity. It has similarities to Santal 33 by Le Labo, but I find Sellier much fuller and more expressive. It is unisex with a masculine tendency, but something of a sophisticated femme fatale on a woman. I also imagine it as an interesting contrast on an otherwise rather feminine and calm woman. As a man, down-to-earth, intellectual and well-groomed - a really great perfume in my opinion!

The scent evokes the mood of a rainy fall day, but also works as a year-round leather scent and certainly suitable as a signature.

The sillage is enormous and the longevity super, 2-3 smaller sprays are enough for you to smell it all day long.

Smells like the color grey
Gris Charnel was one of my first niche fragrances. I think it absolutely lives up to the hype. I bought the fragrance blind and luckily it was exactly my taste.

There's a black tea blend with cardamom - that's exactly what Gris Charnel smells like if you add a little milk and eat figs on the side.

Absolutely suitable for everyday use and I like it best in fall, winter and on rainy or cooler spring days.

Ps, little insider tip: unbeatable with the Cardamom&Tonka body lotion from Jean&Len.

You have to experience it "up close"
My first Diptyque - and my introduction to the world of Diptyque. The name Fleur de Peau already tells you what you can expect from the fragrance. It is close to the skin, but by no means invisible. With one foot in the almost forgotten fragrance world of our grandparents, it conjures up a perfect modern powderiness. At first it seems cool and almost sterile, but then it becomes tender and delightful. It should never be over-sprayed, otherwise it loses its magic and tenderness.

On me, it smells predominantly powdery, clean and floral, more like iris than rose. The longevity is good and sillage is moderate, perfectly fine for this type of fragrance. I see Fleur de Peau more on women, but I could still imagine it on a delicate and thoughtful man.

It can really be worn at any time and all year round. It's more of a signature candidate.

Let's hear it for the tuberose
Totally underrated and far too rarely talked about. Very luxurious, milky tuberose with saffron, honey and ginger. Smells a little soapy, a little fresh, sweet and very pleasant. Longevity is well above average. The fragrance lasts and lasts on the skin, but the sillage is still pleasant.

Very expensive in my opinion, but definitely a gift candidate. Not a blind buy though, you have to like opulence and white flowers!

However, Bravi is actually more in the feminine direction.
