Lovely summer fragrance
This is a really lovely fragrance for summer that smells like the beach but without any sunscreen notes.
On me, it starts with bergamot which almost sparkles and is backed by warm and slightly spicy saffron. After a while, salty sea notes appear with a note that does smell like warm sand. These are joined by woody and spicy notes which all fade to give the smell of sun-warmed skin.
I love this, it smells like being on the beach on a hot day but without any coconut sunscreen notes or seaweed.

Not Chinatown but still lovely
I bought this perfume around 17 years ago (when it wasn’t obscenely priced) and still have a decent amount left in the bottle. I loved it in my 20s, it was my go to for nights out and dates and I felt really cool and sophisticated for wearing a perfume brand that wasn’t widely known in the UK at that time.
Now, I still enjoy wearing it. It’s a lovey perfume - I get a lovely mix of peach, almond and honey at the start before the white florals come in. The tuberose smells soft and creamy on me, and there’s the faintest hint of spice in the background. This lasts for a while, then the warm, soft, creamy drydown. I still really love this perfume however it smells nothing like New York’s Chinatown. No smells of the Chinese bakeries, let alone roasting meats or cooked rice. Definitely no smells of rubbish left on the streets.
I love New York and I love visiting Chinatown when I’m there. I also love this perfume but for me they’re in no way connected.
