Don't buy this!
This Is a lovely Mid spring & all of the summer scent.
You will like this if you love;
1.Dior Homme Cologne 2013 By Christian Dior
2.Bergamot By Malin+Goetz

If you tried those two and like them, then you love this one.
It sweet, aquatic, citrus with sea notes.
Perfect for events on or around the; beach, parks, or just a hot summer day.
Wearing this to the movies, or just hanging out with loved ones...wearing shorts & short sleeve tee shirt. Listing to Will Smith's SummerTime song, drinking some lemonade. Perfect all around.

Now would I outright buy a bottle of this fragrance after saying, what I wrote above...HELL NO!
Here's why: you can get this same scent profile with...
Dior Homme Cologne 2013 By Christian Dior.
The DHC 2013 last longer, projection & sillage is better as well, plus you can get a 200Ml of DHC 2013 for $80 - $100.
And Costarela Carner Barcelona cost $180 - $220 retail, $160 - $180 online. Nope, you lost me right there.

Thankfully I tried this via Scentbird, when it comes to niche fragrance and their high prices. Get a decant from someone, get a sample free of it from a Carner Barcelona boutique(if you have one near you), Sephora(free) & I think Macy's(for free). Buy a sample from eBay. A decant ScentBird, Scent Box or Luxury Box for $15.
Please don't buy this outright.
I hope I helped someone.

I used six sprays...both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest, and front of my shirt.

Will I buy this again?...Yes.

What's the strength of this? EDP.

Can you use it as a unisex scent? Yes.

Am I willing to trade this fragrance? Yes.

Should You Skip It, Sample It First or Blind Buy It?

1.I say Sample it first if you still wanna try it for yourself(It's super pricey).

2.Skip it and get Dior Homme Cologne 2013 By Christian Dior(Much better, you'll thank me later).

Is it the old, new formulation? New.

What's its availability; in production, limited edition or discontinued? In production.

SKU Number: 8437011481306
Batch Number: Unknown (Production Date: ?)

Age: 25+
From: Scentbird
Size: 8 ML
Scent: 3.25/5 (Okay).
Value: 5/5 ($12.00).
Sillage: 2/5 (Two feet).
Longevity: 1.5/5 (Three hours tops).
Creativity: 5/5 (Citrusy, fresh & a walk on the beach).
Projection: 1/5 (Less than an hour).
Versatility: 5/5 (Spring and summertime only & anywhere).
Compliments: 5/5 (Nice).

Until next time, I'll catch you on the flipside.

Lovely summer fragrance
This is a really lovely fragrance for summer that smells like the beach but without any sunscreen notes.

On me, it starts with bergamot which almost sparkles and is backed by warm and slightly spicy saffron. After a while, salty sea notes appear with a note that does smell like warm sand. These are joined by woody and spicy notes which all fade to give the smell of sun-warmed skin.

I love this, it smells like being on the beach on a hot day but without any coconut sunscreen notes or seaweed.

Mrs. Marvelous?
Man, was was I excited about the new Carner gem Costarela!!! A brand where I have yet to experience a total flop, a brand with its own style, that tends to hang out more in the gourmand-light corner...short and sweet: valuable, stylish, and extraordinary! When I read about the new fragrance, especially the "maritime accord," I eagerly awaited the new release; it could only be a success from this brand!
So how is it now??? It's nice..:-)! It is marketed with a "sensuous gaze at the open sea"...that fits quite well...if you embark on a mental, visual journey...meaning, don't test the scent while walking by, but treat yourself to an hour on a sunny balcony and just unwind...take a deep breath and of course spray on the fragrance!
Costarela begins like a jump into the wonderfully cool sea after you've been basking in the sun for 3 hours, extremely refreshing and all senses are awake! The top note is dominated by a zesty and intense bergamot, mixed with aromas of green, slightly bitter grated lemon peels...finally not the obligatory lemon or candied lemon that summer fragrances usually have...a very nice start, but it immediately makes me think of Mister Marvelous by Byredo...not quite as piercing, but definitely in that direction. Costarela is softer, gentler, and rounder; Mister Marvelous hits you directly with a club, which I actually like about that fragrance. The slightly salty, algae-free marine aromas are present, subtle and more blended in than in the foreground. The XXL bergamot calms down after 25-30 minutes without completely disappearing. Everything feels very balanced and in the "flow"...like a homogeneous fragrance carpet. Stylistically, it would fit effortlessly into the blue Tom Ford line, also in his preferred regions like Amalfi, Portofino, or Positano...also in terms of mood and aura, it fits perfectly into this dream area. It also stands out a bit from the recently commented Acquasala. Acquasala has more density, more character...Costarela has more "carefree living" and cheerfulness.
Over time, Costarela becomes a bit woodier, spicier...but still very bright. Here too, I quickly think of Byredo...of the new "Super Cedar"...bright wood with a freshness effect...so Iso and Ambroxan with a hint of cedar wood, also similar to Cedro di Taormina in the base, also similarly airy-transparent. However, Costarela is more expressive and longer-lasting, richer than Super Cedar (nice scent but with insufficient performance). Costarela also becomes a little warmer, which for me is the highlight, namely the warm sand accord; you really have to pay attention to notice it...as mentioned, a fragrance for a timeout, to unwind; rushing here is really not an option...otherwise the scent somehow passes you by...which would be a real shame! But if you allow yourself to get into it, it's like coming out of the cool sea, flopping down on your towel still wet, and digging your hands into the sand; the aroma that then rises goes in this direction...great but incredibly difficult to describe this almost "silent" accord...everyone knows it...but describing it is truly a challenge...you don't have to articulate everything...I prefer the imagery anyway.
Not much more happens with Costarela; it fades after 5-6 hours into a wood-sand-amber base, which is nice but also unobtrusive. The sillage is strong in the first 1-2 hours, then rather subtle, but perceptible. A bit too subtle for me...but that fits very well with the fragrance direction; here you probably don't want to be over-perfumed during your little "timeout."
Really beautiful unisex scent, but it lacks that something special and extraordinary for the top note.

The Man and the Sea #10 - of Beach Hats and Sandy Beaches
Costarella begins with zesty citrus fruits, pepper, marine accords, and clean musk. Azure blue, absolutely clear water in its purest freshness. Picture-perfect vacation, glossy magazine, and holiday dreams. It quickly becomes clear that the citrus top note is merely a brief sparkle in the course of the fragrance. After a short time, the glossy magazine is set aside, and it becomes evident: there is indeed beach and sea!

The sand accord, surprisingly well captured, makes the scent not truly dry, but noticeably mineral. A lady with a pure white beach hat strolls by, the musk ensures diffusion, but does not push itself to the forefront any longer. It becomes salty. Not like the algae-salty smell of the sea, rather like dried salt on tanned skin. Fortunately, it is only lightly creamed with a very delicate Ambroxan base! Soft dark green notes in the background contribute a rather rugged edge. And if it weren't for the salt and a kind of (drift)wood that irrevocably brings the sea into focus, the gray-green-mineral scent could easily remind one of cool-stony mountain lakes.

Carner's fragrance is one of the most delightful in my testing series. Not only because it is neither sweet nor significantly creamy, but also because it offers a perspective that goes beyond the sea. It captures the beach and stone, which could even interpret another landscape.
Sillage and longevity are pleasantly summery, although they are not quite enough to last an entire day.

The Hidden Coast
Carner Barcelona launched around the same time as I did - making them one of the first niche brands I could test. The original quartet laid a juicy gourmand foundation that made me crave more & was also quite successful, as far as I know, with D600 as a bestseller. At some point, however, things got a bit quieter around the Spaniards & the two new releases somewhat passed me by - I usually prefer quality over quantity with fragrance companies, but here it seems to have contributed to losing sight of them. Be that as it may, I will definitely catch up on "Paolo Santo" & "El Born" soon, and I won't let the brand new "Costarela," a summery sea breeze, wait too long. Just to see if the delicious Spaniards can also do summer.

On one hand, I like "Costarela" very much as expected; it is a citrusy vacation scent, sharp, sleek & aquatic, with the underlying sound of the sea particularly appealing to me. Call it good marketing or the subconscious fragrance pyramid - but I definitely perceive warm sand on a beach. As if a fine shimmer of salt flickers on the skin. For anyone who still has their summer vacation in 2016 ahead of them, this is another candidate to test.

However, Costarela also disappoints a bit and doesn't quite reach the highest level because it simply comes across as super simple & tame. Just like an average lemon with a bit of salt. And that shows my dilemma - with imagination, it's a Caribbean sandy beach; pessimistically viewed, it's a slightly salty lemon. Nothing groundbreaking, nothing extraordinary. A super safe coastal stretch. You can buy it, you can like it, but you can't really celebrate it. The only thing I truly celebrate is that it's an absolutely algae-free niche aquatic where you can still sense the sea in the distance. Just a relaxed view of the sea.

Bottle: the new lettering wasn't necessary, but it doesn't ruin anything.
Sillage: doesn't fill a beach bar.
Longevity: if there's no jump into the sea in between, then 3-5 hours.

Conclusion: a good coastal scent that, however, fails to fully captivate me or even introduce me to a new coastal stretch... You won't miss anything if you don't test it directly this summer.

Aggressively chemical and headache inducing, but also ingenious. Smells like the day on the beach: sand, hot wind and suntan lotion.

An excellent combination of citrus and marine notes. Good option for the summer, especially to wear with a white t-shirt!

Enjoying sugar-free soda at the beach - including a light sea breeze, a bit of creaminess, and lots of vacation vibes! Unfortunately, Ambrox ruins the DD.

Starts off promising, but then drifts into Ambroxan synthetics. The other notes could have been expressive enough.

Refreshing sea breeze for half an hour. Longevity is clearly overrated. What a shame for such a beautiful scent!

Unfortunately, I don't like it at all. Stuffy hairspray and sharp citrus. The pyramid actually sounds so nice.

Modern, aromatic citrus scent with a balanced creamy-maritime-salty Ambroxan base. It's well dosed & provides H.
