I still don't know...
what this scent wants to tell me.
It starts with a quite intense synthetic salty raspberry. Fortunately, this is softened by spices and a bit of smoke. The initial shock seems to be manageable.
The opening strangely reminds me a lot of the salty mandarin from Aqva Amara. It may sound odd, but that's how it is for me. Somehow fruity, metallic, and very salty. After the opening, the fragrance becomes more pleasing.
Oddly enough, it smells quite like rose in the air for me. This spicy raspberry has something of a noble rose.
But then I wonder what the scent wants or who should wear it.
In my opinion, it is too spicy for the ladies, and too cloyingly raspberry (rosy) for men. So somehow the ultimate unisex scent and yet not suitable for either side.
Very strange...
I wore it to an evening Christmas market visit with friends and felt odd with it. At times I found it good, and in other moments, it didn't seem to suit me.
You can surely tell that I find it very difficult to give a rating. I will give Leather Oudh more chances to see if it fits me after all and for which occasions it is olfactorily suitable.
I would classify the longevity of the EDP as very persistent. After 2 days and two showers, it is still faintly detectable on the back of my hand. The sillage is strong in the first 2-3 hours, then moderate.

Love-Hate
Hey folks,
I don't own Creed Aventus myself, but I have smelled this fragrance often and have even worn it a few times.
A friend, who belongs to the rockabilly scene, owns this scent (CA) and invited me to try it on. In his opinion, it's the best barbershop fragrance.
I applied it and immediately noticed this incredible strong freshness paired with Grandpa's best aftershave. Fantastic, somehow old-school but also modern.
Things were really happening. Grandpa's aftershave, shower gel, wood, leather, citrus, sweet pineapple, pepper, but unfortunately also that smoky touch in the background. I think it's great, except for the smoky part. At first, it's incredibly strong and amazing in the sillage, but after about 3 hours, it's gone for me. Only detectable on the skin but no longer that interesting. Just pineapple and something smoky.
An interesting fragrance, before I knew the price.
After doing a bit of research and reading up, I came across Vibrant Leather by Zara.
It was said: “This smells like Creed Aventus, only it's much cheaper!”
So I dashed to the next store, sprayed it on, and bought it for a bargain.
What can I say? At first, it smells surprisingly similar. Things are happening again.
Grandpa is back, even more freshness, overall somehow brighter (if you can say that), citrusy, peppery, and sweet pineapple (though less so). Thank God no smoke!
Actually, it smelled like a great thing, but Creed Aventus remains exciting, while Vibrant Leather becomes boring, even to put it bluntly, ordinary. The first hour VL remains very complex, but gradually it seems to lose the components abruptly (leather and wood were already less prominent from the start). Just smelled it, and it's gone in a short time. What a pity!
What unfortunately remains at the end is only detectable on the skin. And that is, unfortunately, just sweet sludge. Like pouring canned pineapple juice on your skin. And that's really a shame!
Aventus without smoke and at a low price would have been so nice. But unfortunately, that's not the case.
Still, I would recommend VL to anyone who loves the Aventus DNA. In the club or at parties, you will still stand out positively.
I now own Montblanc Explorer, which is considered another similar scent to Creed Aventus.
If you liked my assessment, I’d be happy to write you another review on Montblanc Explorer!
