Birds flyin' high, you know how I feel?
I associate the finely and sweetly embossed leather gloves of an Audrey Hepburn, sunlit citrus fruits on the Costa Amalfitana. Birds chirping in the branches. There is a whiff of green tea in the air. I get impressions of green and vastness. It smells mossy and a little wickedly floral. The moderate silage makes the fragrance subtle but present. Mysterious.

What makes Eau de Memo particularly appealing to me is something dark, a little mysterious, leathery, a hint of musky-green wickedness. And the gold color of the enchanting bottle, which depicts birds in branches, makes me think of a curtain in another world that slowly lifts as the fragrance unfolds. Pure jazz club atmosphere.

Which brings me back to Billy Holiday, whose intonation always had something heavy in it, even when it was about happiness:

Feeling Good (Billy Holiday)
Birds flyin' high, you know how I feel
Sun in the sky, you know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by, you know how I feel

Head cinema is of course very subjective. But it is wonderful how fragrances transport us to other worlds. Eau de Memo does this for me time and time again. And this has been the case since the first sniff, when I fell "shockingly in love". May the dream never end.
