Freshies don't get much better than this
On first spray of Eau de Memo, I got a burst of slightly-sweetened citrus. I thought, "I've smelled this a thousand times before. We're gonna get neroli-ish florals next, then a musky base." And old-fashioned, cologne-y freshie, right?

Wrong. Next came, not heady florals, but a smooth tea note. This is the same perfumer and brand as Winter Palace, so you can be assured this a spectacular tea note. So, citrus and tea. This is just Wūlóng Chá Extrait de Parfum, right?

Wrong. The real genius here is the addition of leather. A smooth, suede-y note that complements the tea and citrus perfectly, yet makes the scent slightly more elevated and masculine. It is not simply a trite freshie, you can pull this off in almost any situation. At the beach or in the boardroom.

I really can't think of a fresh scent that has impressed me this much since "Nio | XerJoff". Spectacular blending and composition. This is a rare 10/10 for me.

Eau de Memo by Memo
Eau de Memo opens with a tangy citrus note which fades pretty quickly living behind a predominant leather note with touches of tea. It is like having a piece of leather and soaking it in citrus tea. An interesting smell with a good leathery vibe. Smelling my hand, I feel like citrus, leather and tea are hitting each other to get in front. They appear and disappear one by one.
In the heart of the perfume I was expected iris to hit me in the face. No way. Somewhere in the back a pale note of iris can be smelled. It is a hidden note behind the leather. It gives a creamy facet to the composition.
The base is about leather and musk.
For me this is not an oriental-floral perfume. It is a leathery scent with tea and citrus. The perfume has a moderate sillage and good longevity. It is sexy and luxurious. The bottle is also very cute.
If you want to try a fragrance with leather, tea and citrus, you can choose Eau de Memo.

Green tea and leather: a more unique approach to the freshie classic
I chose Eau de Memo for my custom discovery set, knowing there was a leather note because I was hoping the reviews saying green tea was more prominent than leather would be right.

The top notes are very beautiful. I get an amazing juicy, zesty and uplifting note of mandarin orange. The citrus fruits are very beautiful. Paired with the green tea note, it's a sophisticated version of a cup of green tea, a perfect spash of freshness for warm temperatures to come. I get a subtle and refined spiciness coming from the coriander, that further enhances the green tea. If those ntoes had remained longer and had been the stars, it would've been an easy 10/10. Unfortunately, it doesn't take too long before the leather note arrives. Thankfully, it's not an interior-of-a-sport's-car kind of leather. It's a smoother, suede-like scent. It wraps around the mandarin and the green tea, giving them a lovely sense of elegance and tempering down their sweetness. It starts morphing slowly into a lipstick kind of vintage vibe with a hint of powderiness with the orris. Drydown becomes more musky as the jasmine seems to come back from hiding in the middle note and settling as a bottom note.

I won't be going for a full bottle even though I did re-test it just to be sure about my decision. I do have to say I'm surprised at how much I did enjoy it, even with the leather note. It's one of the more unique takes on green tea and citrus freshies. Unfortunately, coriander seems to lean more masculine than what I smelled first time I wore it. The leather and the powdery vintage drydown finally got to me and turned me away from the fragrance. I do suggest you try it out for yourself and I'm glad I got to try another Memo Paris fragrance!

A fresh scent for those who enjoy leaving a trail of shed pleather behind them
Decent at first spray. Zingy citrus like a lemon popsicle. Then, it starts veering into grassy territory. But underneath it, there’s something, I don’t know, oily? Oh... it's burning plastic. The noxious chemical scent of a shorted wall socket. On top of it, there’s grass, a bit of spice, mild balsam. But just below, an overworked computer fan lingers. I’m making it sound much worse than it is. There is no real development after the first ten minutes. After an hour, the burnt plastic smell completely dissipates. Yet without it, the fragrance is barely perceptible.

The Winged Pacer
"You take the last sip of green tea and venture outside. Paris is awake and waiting. It’s marathon day.

The horn sounds at the starting line. You take a deep breath and begin the journey. Just then a gray bird darts overhead.

The city is full of energy today. Crowds are chanting, “Allez! Allez!” while jumping with homemade signs. Just yesterday you were sipping orange juice outside a quiet cafe and strolling jasmine lined streets.

A patch of forest greets you with a cool breeze. The bird is no longer in sight. Your heart sinks, but then you spot it soaring above the trees.

Along the Seine, you approach Notre-Dame. You notice a little girl wearing pink leather shoes cheering you on from the bridge. You keep running towards what you’ve been chasing for miles—The Eiffel Tower.

You’ve made it to the final stretch. Your body starts to protest, but the finish line pulls you in. You look up to see outstretched wings and a familiar shadow next to yours.

For just a moment, the aches subside and all that’s left is the feeling of flying."

A lemon green tea that fades to musky spice
in the cool - warm style of Déclaration.
Spray it on cloth to keep the head notes alive.

Quirky citrusy-aromatic leather fragrance that makes me think of a footwear store. Smells fairly smooth, but the performance is light.

Nostalgic childhood memory unlocked of a dusty old 80's sports car interior after baking in the sun. Not in a bad way, though :D

Beautiful green tea steeped with spices and citruses. Morphs into a leathery, lipstick and vintage type of drydown. Interesting freshie.
