Chalou Gold, I adore you.
Since I've been with Parfumo, my collection has grown significantly (surprise! :D). And yet, I reach for none more regularly than the cheapest of my perfumes: Chalou Gold.
It is my all-purpose weapon: well-groomed but not too fancy, warm but not too sweet, fresh in spring, fruity on summer evenings, warm in the autumn sun. It is simple and unpretentious, and it lifts my mood every time. It’s suitable for job interviews but also works perfectly on the sofa on Sundays. I always take it with me in a travel spray because it fits so many moods. And of course, it spares all my other treasures. Its simplicity also grounds my nose. After that, I can smell the heavy hitters better.
So, in short: I love love love Chalou Gold.
Is it supposed to be a dupe? Fine by me - then I can invest the saved money in a few decants.

Chalou Gold starts with fruity, zesty peach. That’s the part that lifts my mood. Does anyone know those sweet-sour peach rings from the candy aisle? That’s what it reminds me of. Chalou is less sweet. Then, over the first few hours, it becomes less zesty, flowers come in, a soft rose that then slowly fades away and ends warmly. Chalou smells wonderfully soft and feminine. It lasts about 5-6 hours on me, but it can also be refreshed at lunchtime without any pain at that price.

Chalou, I adore you! Let’s travel together for a long time.

Pleasant Everyday Blooms
When you really don't have any money for your hobby, you eventually end up with La Rive fragrances. Why not, there are some great options for everyday wear at a low price.
In the drugstore, I can only judge very superficially whether I like a scent or not. Colour didn’t make it into my basket because it blew me away, but rather because it was even on sale at a low price. Now Colour has been with me for half a year, and just this week it has accompanied me quite often.

It is floral and light, but not fresh or clean, rather just a tiny bit warm. It is close to the skin and uncomplicated. More for oneself than for the environment. At the moment, it is just right for the last remnants of summer, where autumn is already peeking through the leaves and the nights are getting quite cool.
The scent is simply structured. After spraying, wait a moment for the alcohol to evaporate. The red apple from the top note probably stays in the bottle. But already, the orange blossom rushes towards me. I can't have it all the time, but right now in late summer, it fits fantastically. It wraps around me and stays very close to the skin. It becomes warmer over time, a bit woody but rather indefinably woody instead of olive wood and sandalwood. The vanilla mixes in but doesn’t become sweet-gourmand, and together the scent fades rather quietly on the skin. Longevity: Feel free to reapply in the afternoon. Bottle: Well, it could be worse.
For 5€, it’s a great deal.

When I told someone yesterday about my small perfume collection, the person sitting next to me said, "But you're not wearing any perfume right now!" Yes, this one. I held out my arm. "Oh... yes, it blends so well with you." I thought that was a great compliment. :)

Some Like It Hot
During our first encounter, I sprayed you on my arm and you accompanied me while I was shopping. That was in spring. Your fruity sweetness tickled my nose, but I wasn't looking for sugar; I needed floral freshness and blooming meadows. And you weren't the right one. There was no spark. Again, sweet trends, really not my thing.
Later, we took a detour through a sample of Sun di Gioia. Until then, I would have firmly claimed that sweet fragrances were absolutely not for me. But it was hot, and the fragrance pyramid sounded tempting like a summer cocktail. It wasn't love at first sight, but definitely fascination, so I finished the sample over the following days. It was like a pull. However, for such a hot summer romance, I didn't want to buy a full bottle of Sun di Gioia. Who knows how long my new love for sweetness will last, and the designer scent isn't exactly a bargain for me. And then you came to mind again. Way back in my head.
The second test in the store was then insane! Not only do you and Sun di Gioia share the same family, but you smell almost identical on my arm in the top note. You couldn't even blink before you ended up in my shopping cart! And the rest, as they say, is history.

So at the beginning, you kick off with this fruity sweetness that envelops me like a warm summer cocktail with coconut milk, orange, pineapple, and maybe some other exotic South Sea fruits. You fit well on warmed skin because you smell like the beach. You also bring the sun into otherwise gloomy summer days when it should actually be hot. As time goes on, Sun di Gioia and you say goodbye to each other. You become saltier, lose your fruity sweetness, and turn warm-soft-creamy-vanilla with a touch of exotic that envelops me until the end. That's your strength: In warm temperatures, you really come into your own and catapult one into a slowed-down "dancing on the beach at sunset" feeling. The salty vanilla blends with warm skin and becomes incredibly harmonious. I feel in tune with myself and my surroundings, wanting to put my feet up and eat ice cream. Once or twice a day, you do need a re-spray if you want to keep you all day long. At that price, it doesn't hurt, and it even brings great joy with my love for your top note (thank you, handbag decant). And my first "Hmm, you smell good" you also gifted me on the hottest day of the year. :)

I’m happy that we found each other and will enjoy our time. Whether our love will last through the summer remains to be seen.
