Recently in the drugstore on a bargain hunt...
After some clones missed the mark, I like to have your esteemed Parfumo ratings on hand while testing to make an initial selection. So, among the well-rated and available on the shelf from La Rive, this one stood out.

One..., no, two... test strips, please. First the La Rive, then the original. I was quite surprised. The top notes were almost identical in direct comparison, and especially the hazelnut was clearly noticeable in both. I found this hazelnut note particularly special and it was, alongside the price, the reason I spontaneously bought it.

When applying it to my skin, I was a bit disappointed, as instead of the hazelnut, I only detected floral notes, particularly the jasmine note which I do not particularly love. After about 10 minutes, relief sets in, the rose joins in, and I feel as if I am freshly lotioned in a flower meadow. A state to linger in, everyday stress bye-bye, serenity come to me.

Yes, In Flames, we have become friends. You weren't exactly what I expected, but you do me good and I am happy to have you ☺️.

An (almost) perfect Eau de Parfum
I was at Rossmann on a Friday afternoon. It had been raining all day outside, and it was so cold that you could really only go out in a winter jacket, hat, etc., unless you wanted to turn into an ice sculpture within seconds. So it was quite good weather to spend a lot of time in the drugstore buying makeup, hair products, and skincare. I also wanted to look for a cozy and warm scent (fitting for the weather outside). However, I made a mistake when I decided to sniff through the fragrances from La Rive. I know that La Rive produces quite good scent dupes, and I personally always look forward to saving "a few" euros. So I happily sprayed various scents on the tester until I got stuck on one. A mix of fruity and sweet with a delicate (but not too intense) freshness. I don't know what the scent did to me, but I had to have it immediately. "In Flames" it would be. At that moment, I didn't know what kind of dupe it was, but it just smelled good-so I didn't really care ;)

When I got home, I immediately sprayed myself with my new favorite and did a little research on the side. When I saw that "In Flames" is the twin sister of "Olympea," everything just clicked for me at that moment.
Since I first saw the advertisement from Paco Rabanne, I was so fascinated. The model, beautiful with an elegance and coolness at the same time, walks into the water in an equally beautiful atmosphere. "I am strong, I am feminine, I am beautiful and confident, and nothing can stop me." That's probably what she was thinking. For me, the advertisement is extremely successful; it spoke to me, and since then, I wanted to know how this woman smelled.
It was pretty clear to me that I could only treat myself to the scent at Christmas or my birthday-I’m still a student and feel like I have to turn every cent twice. And now I was actually wearing this scent. Not too overpowering, but still present. Feminine, but not drenched in 10 liters of sticky syrup (as is often the case). Fruity with a slightly exotic note, but not rotten. Sexy, but not in a heavy, overwhelming way, rather very light and stylish. In short: This scent is amazing!
The only flaw is that it unfortunately doesn't last very long on me. If I really wanted to smell it all day, I would have to carry the 90ml bottle with me. So I unfortunately have to live with the fact that it dissipates after 3-4 hours. But until that point, I actually feel like a (half-) goddess. Feminine, sexy, fresh, and full of energy. I think this scent could really appeal to many of you. A clear recommendation from me, especially for those who want a great fragrance experience for a small price :)

When Mermaids Bake Nut Cake...
...the ocean surely smells of "In Flames" by La Rive.

It is truly amazing how La Rive always manages to recreate well-known fragrance inspirations very effectively (in my eyes, even better, as they are not as intense and overpowering as the originals).
Here we have a replica of Paco Rabanne's Olympea.
I tested the original shortly after its release at Douglas and found it very interesting and something completely different. This blend of light aquatic notes, gourmand sweetness, and salt was something I had never perceived in any perfume before...so I added it to my watchlist and waited.
I wasn't quite sure if it would be a scent that I might not enjoy after a short time due to its extravagant composition...so I preferred not to spend too much money at first.

When La Rive came out with "In Flames" a few months ago, I didn't hesitate long and bought it. I have not regretted it, and my initial fear of quickly disliking it did not come true, thankfully!

In Flames starts on my skin immediately with a strong hazelnut note, but not creamy-sweet (as I perceive it in Angel Muse or Loverdose Red Kiss), rather dry with a slight roasted note. Along with this, I perceive a hint of coconut. Here too, it is not soft and sweet, but also dry and somewhat like coconut flakes. Relatively quickly, the salt joins in, giving the fragrance this aquatic quality despite its gourmand elements. But not an aquatic note like in Cool Water, rather a salty freshness that truly reminds one of foamy spray while standing on the beach and inhaling the fresh salty sea air.
I find it fascinating how salt can be so distinctly noticeable in a perfume (and then so well replicated by La Rive).
The hazelnut and the hint of coconut also lend a certain warmth to the fragrance.
It really reminds me of the smell that fills the air when you open the oven door and the warm, delicious scent of a freshly baked nut cake wafts out. Only here, it is an oven located in a wooden cabin right by a rough, crashing ocean, while the seagulls scream and the nut cake scent mingles with the smell of the foaming sea.

Overall, I would describe In Flames as salty-aquatic-fresh while also warm-gourmand. Therefore, it fits well in all seasons, summer as well as winter.
A slight sweetness is present, but I am used to much stronger ones and perceive the sweetness as only mild.
By the way, I don't perceive the listed fruits or the rose at all.
Towards the end, the woods become more pronounced, which reminds me just a little of Womanity (the saltiness and the wood really give it something of driftwood).
By the way, I also have a similar nut cake association with Womanity :).

All in all, a really nice affordable fragrance for anyone looking for a slightly lighter version of Olympea or simply wanting to combine salty freshness and warmth in one scent.

The sillage is not extreme for me; you have to come within about 1 meter to smell something. The longevity is quite good; sprayed in the morning, the scent is still faintly noticeable at bedtime.

Better than expected from the brand.
Once again, I found myself exploring La Rive. As always with this brand, the opening is sharply synthetic. But that fades quickly. I don't smell hazelnut at the beginning, but rather aquatic notes and a hint of orange. What follows is a successful blend of floral and fruity scents, rounded off by sandalwood. The dry down has a bit of vanilla and coconut. However, these two notes are quickly pushed aside by amber and wood. The longevity on my skin is about 4 hours, which is more than sufficient for the price. An affordable fragrance that doesn't smell cheap. It has a classically feminine vibe without being overpowering. At the same time, it has a bit of flair. There is a strong similarity to Olympea by Paco Rabanne, especially in the dry down. For me, this is a fragrance for the time after Christmas in the new year, when it's still cold but not yet spring.

What a Surprise!
When my son presented his perfume-loving mother with a set from In Flames (90ml EdP and deodorant) for Christmas, I had to make an effort to muster a "Oh, thank you so much, how wonderful," as I expected a more or less hideous fragrance creation, judging by the appearance and packaging.
After the first spray, I had to internally make amends. The scent smells very good, lasts 2-3 hours on me, and allows for generous reapplication without regret, delighting me time and again, even without knowing the big sister.
On me, the fragrance does not come off as sweet; it develops an almost tart, fresh note that makes it very pleasant.
Furthermore, I became aware of the manufacturer La Rive and will soon test more fragrances. The price makes it possible.
Since then, I have honestly thanked my son multiple times for this gift.

Salty-fresh yet warm with gourmand hints of hazelnut and coconut. The scent of a nut cake, baked by mermaids.

By no means worse than all the current mainstream ones. Salty-floral, slightly fruity, and a bit sweet without being sticky. I like it!

Smells so beautifully of the sea at first, slightly salty, then sweeter, a bit powdery, very pleasing. Better than the original "Olympea"

A practical, light & airy dupe of Olympea. Salty-fresh-sweet with a nutty note. A lovely summer scent for a budget-friendly price.

My first La Rive. Very good dupe! Salty-floral, slightly sweet. Good longevity and surprisingly high quality. Womanity/Muse/Olympéa type.

Not any more artificial than all the current designer synthetics. Base: beautiful light hazelnut cream, not too sweet, soft and pleasant.

Creamy-salty-sweet-fresh and floral-tropical; pastel yellow, white, and rose; flattering, milky sillage; very close to Olympea, softer
