Powdery floral cloud (of doom)
I love trying Lush perfumes because of the variety and creativity in some of them. Sadly, Cocktail is one I could've easily lived without trying.

I will preface this with the admission that I do get hayfever but this typically isn't something triggered by essential oils or perfumes: it's more due to au naturel plants/trees. BUT as soon as I sprayed this ylang-ylang bomb on myself, my nose was running and eyes watering! This lasted for hours and I felt like absolute crap.

The initial explosion/heavy cloud of powdery florals is straight up disgusting. It's so heavy. Again, I also think I am adverse to ylang-ylang so I may just be stupid trying this perfume. The strength of the florals give me quite a 90s vibe in a bad way (I feel like it's something I would've smelt on teachers I perceived as old as a child). It's just a massive, terrible mix of florals that is quite suffocating.

The drydown (after an hour or so) is marginally better. It's still a heady floral but with SOMETHING else behind the floral. I don't know what it is - maybe the bergamot? It's a crisper smell lurking behind the floral mess but it still overall feels as if it shoving itself down my throat and threatening to choke me and poke my eyeballs out.

It also lasts and lasts and lasts and lasts and lasts... Torture!

(This review was for the 10ml spray so ymmv as I reckon the smaller giftset sprays are a little different?)

Sounds perfect on paper BUT...
This sounds perfect on paper and was very excited to have this arrive (blind buy, surprise surprise).

The initial spray was like a very sharp, alcoholic EA Green Tea (reminds me of my mum so I have a soft spot for that scent buuuut...). If I thought that was bad... once the alcohol dissipated all I got was spicy celery water. Old spicy celery water. Like musky, nasty celery water. I had to wash it off!

Disappointed because the notes really sounded up my alley but I can't get any of the freshness or crispiness that I've seen others mention, except for at the initial spray (and then it was like a bargain store Green Tea). It also doesn't lean feminine in any way to me: it's very masculine (don't know what exactly is masculine about it but it just feels it, idk), but I also don't think I'd even ask my partner to try this one. It would be torture for the both of us.

I'm left disappointed and wondering if this is a reformulation, or if it just REALLY hates my skin... ;(

Sharp and sweet
Surprised by a lot of the reviews - I bought this for only NZ$30 because so many reviews were saying it was disgusting and I was curious as my friend wears the og Princess heaps and it's lovely. The bottle is cute, too.

I got a blast of sharp (but sweet) fruity florals on first spray, with a spiciness behind them. It quickly dried down to a more powdery sweetness. You can still smell a juiciness to it after dry down, which I'm assuming is the peach. There's a hint of something familiar in there, like a shower gel I've used before which may be the ylang ylang as that used to be a very popular shower gel scent back in the day (never really liked it but if that's what it is, it works in this scent).

I've seen other reviews mention car oil, old beer and overall cheap smells but I'm not getting that! I feel like it's a lovely, fresh and clean smell!

Another inoffensive one in my eyes: it possibly leans young, but the dry down elevates it as the powdery and spicy notes come through more which matures it a wee bit. It's very pretty - no rock vibes here.

Warm coconut
I couldn't pass this up as it was NZ$15 so blind bought it (surprise surprise). On first spray I was getting a subtle background mint or menthol "feel" to it, or like a hint of liniment? I'm unsure where this element comes from but it was really interesting.
On dry down, it's what it says on the tin: a warm coconut scent that isn't just singular coconut. No real suggestion of beaches or suntan lotion to me (wouldn't be against that though), leans more toward a warm floral-esque coconut. I'm wearing this in winter and I think it could be easily mistaken for a floral. There's still a hint of something liniment or maybe cleaning product-y in the background but it's very very subtle and I have to really inhale my wrist to get this. Overall, I'm a fan and I think this is really lovely for winter! Comforting scent.
I'm typically a single sprayer of perfume and I think with 1-2 sprays this would be fine for an office.
My first Katy Perry perfume and I'm pleasantly surprised. Do hate the bottle, perfume name, and font used though - cheapens the experience.

Strong as anything
Wow in a bad way - my partner wears a lot of the male Joop fragrances and I love them so I thought I would try this. Regret! It hit me like a truck and smells very musty and vinegar-y. A whole vinegar/musk/wee bomb. I bought this new so that was unexpected, but I've seen so many positive reviews that I'm wondering if I got a bad bottle. I've put it away in the dark to "mature" so here's hoping in a year or so it will be wearable. Or perhaps it's a terrible reformulation? Both my partner and I thought it had a distinctly "old lady" smell (the kind of office lady that sprays a strong retro perfume on 50 times before she gets into the lift and everyone chokes on it). I couldn't even tell you what it is supposed to smell like! Just horrid and had to wash it off.
