Here I am in his apartment...
...and open the mirror cabinet in the bathroom. Immediately the blue bottle catches my eye...a smile flits across my face. No matter what perfumes I've given to him over the years...Cool Water has always been his. I unscrew the top and this fresh aquatic scent, aromatic from the rosemary and mint, catapults me back to 1989. For his twentieth birthday, I wanted to get him something special, so I diligently saved my allowance and bought him this scent. Back then, Cool Water was what Aventus is to men today.

I sit on the edge of the bathtub and wet my sweater with this scent...I breathe it in deeply. When the top notes dissipate, the lush oak moss takes the stage...paired with the musk and woods, the scent takes on depth and has a calming effect on me...somehow. I sigh. Star Wars probably would have completely passed me by if it hadn't gotten me excited about it. I can still remember him coming home after going to the movies (Return of the Jedi Knights 1983) and him telling me about it. He also had a talent for imitating sounds like the laser cannons or the TIE fighters, which made it all that much more vivid and comforted me over the disappointment of not being allowed into the cinema at the time. Star Trek with Captain Jean Luc Picard we both liked to watch as well. Ben Hur on the other hand I would never have watched but he said that you have to see this great movie at least once...and he was right, the movie is great. I discovered my love of movie tunes through him...I would have otherwise mistaken Morricone for an ice cream flavor...in general, I learned a lot from him...riding a bike without training wheels, painting, drawing, playing the piano (but I was never as good as he was) and he always took the time to take me to the traffic practice area when I was about to get my driver's license.
As I'm reminiscing I have to laugh out loud...my daughter appears around the corner and looks at me questioningly... "oh nothing honey, I was just thinking about how your uncle greeted my first boyfriend with the words "if you break my little sister's heart I'll make it look like an accident". My daughter grins... "he said the same thing to my boyfriend"...we both laugh... "well"...I say and shrug my shoulders... "and who's going to protect us now?"... "oh mom"...my child sits down next to me and takes me in her arms... "I'm sure he has a much better view of us from up there"...

R.I.P big brother...I miss you very much...

Looking for...
...a spring fragrance I came across the here again.
Even if the winter has us just firmly in the grip, I'm just longing for fresh scents for the spring. Most fragrances that I own are more oriental, spicy, gourmandig for the fall / winter intended ... one, two summer fragrances I also have ... but for the spring I have found so far nix that appealed to me. Maybe it's also because I don't like green notes soooo. So must rather what floral, flowery hold out.
From this one I have heard and read so much good. I had the also sprayed a few times in Douglas, but he has never really pleased me. Now I got me in the Souk a small filling, I belong to the people who do not give up immediately.
Is caladia leaf a type of tea?! That's how this scent smells to me at first....haut still doesn't knock me off my stool...wait a minute...some mint joins in...hmmm nope...I'm still enthroned on the stool. I google for caladia leaf, find nix to it, except how it looks...pretty as a decoration in the vase.
After a while, a light rose joins the "tea"...and it stays there. Lasts about 3 hours...then the scent is puff away on my skin.
Conclusion...he blows me...exactly...not from the stool. Or at least this one just doesn't fit me and my personality. I can imagine this one on a medical student who wants to smell clean and inconspicuous...I need something more floral for a spring scent...

Am very grateful for suggestions ;-)

Would it make the...
give as a room fragrance, I would buy the smooth and set up in the hallway. I actually smell all fragrances, which has been written here in comments or statements (except the plastic, I do not smell).

The first five minutes he has what fresh, peppery and at the same time cinnamony...then he is actually lime-brazy, but only if you have his nose the whole time on the wrist...at a distance of half a meter I find the really pleasant...inconspicuous, but still there...like many a colleague in the office...or just a room fragrance...what a comparison *laughs*. In the Drydown comes again the cinnamon to the appearance, embedded in a creamy vanilla / patchouli cloud...the musk keeps in the background, which I find good, because I'm not soooo the fan of musk.

Actually, quite a nice everyday fragrance for every season and every occasion....

Sommelier du Parfum...
...do you know this website?! There you enter your preferences and you get suggestions for perfumes, which you can then choose and order as a sample. Five fragrances at 2 ml each, a sixth fragrance is on top as a goodie. Great thing...I, always on the lookout for the next kick, of course immediately tried.
Of the six fragrances were five...hmmm...well not quite soooo as expected, nice...but nothing that would have blown me away...but this ONE fragrance has me sooo geflasht that he will certainly be my new signature fragrance, I will certainly still like in ten years. Yet this was the exact scent I assumed I would NOT like because it has cherry in it. Funny, isn't it? Because every fragrance that contains cherry smells somehow artificial, fruity, sweet...at least the ones I knew so far. That's also the reason why I haven't smelled TF Lost Cherry yet (but I'll definitely make up for it).
For me, Tuxedo Rouge belongs to the genre of "you either love this one or you hate this one" just like with Alien...and I love love LOVE it!!!! The amazing thing about the scent is that it smells smoky, even though there's no incense or tobacco in it...I'm guessing it's from the cashmeran and ambroxan. Of course, the cherry is the main player...but it is so expertly interwoven with the balsamic labdanum and tonka bean that it just smells delicious on the skin...present, but in a distinguished way. Towards the end, so after three four hours, the fragrance is slightly powdery / vanilla and close to the skin...unfortunately...the sillage is not as wumsig as I would like, the fragrance itself lasts six / seven hours...no matter...the like to refresh in between times ;-)

Damn...
...do you know this? You read the fragrance notes and think "yup, could fit"...ersoukt itself (or in the case, you exchange a few ml) and then this disappointment? Oh...I think you know that to enough ;-)
Is the second Mancera fragrance I try...and already the first was not so mine. But this one is really perverse. A spritzchen on the wrist and already you sink into a mixture of tobacco and oud...and a very earthy patchouli...all scents that I like in small doses, but as I said...in small doses!
Well...sometimes a fragrance needs to unfold...so a few things done, half hour around, sniffed again on the wrist (not that you have to, because the sillage is bomb)...nothing. After half an hour I smelled it again...still so bad...incense and vetiver join in and I imagine that it smells even worse than at the beginning...after two hours I gave up....I scrubbed my wrist with curd soap and carefully smelled it again...it still sticks to me, but of course in a weakened form. This is the moment where I always ask myself... "why is it that your favorite scents never last this long?"
Small consolation, four hours later I smell again on my wrist, just out of curiosity whether the scent is finally gone...he is not...but now he smells fine vanilla / cinnamon, slightly ambered...even the apple I perceive...you have to go through hell to get to the forecourt of heaven?
