The fragrance that started my collection
While Oud Wood is not the first fragrance I ever owned, I do like to think it is the fragrance that officially started my fragrance collection.
When all the stores finally reopened after the first COVID lockdown in 2020, I stumbled upon the entire Private Blend collection by Tom Ford and was starstruck just by seeing all of the amazing bottles in person.

After I finally got the chance to smell the prestigious Oud Wood, I fell in love and my taste in fragrances was changed forever. In that moment, Oud Wood was the most amazing scent I'd ever smelled.
Every chance I got, I went to the store to smell it, because I wasn't about to pay the ridiculous price for which the perfume sells. I was able to add it to my collection as a gift I received from my parents a couple months later after doing a lot of yard work.

The packaging it comes in was revolutionary for me at the time, but now having enjoyed many more unboxings of fragrances in a similar price range, this no longer takes the cake.
The bottle is of okay quality, but the cap is very loose and won't hold the full weight of the bottle after all these years.

The perfume itself opens with the softest and nicest oud you'll ever smell. Many years later, I still regard this as one of the best smelling perfumes I've tried.

A (very) big downside to this fragrance, though, is its awful performance, both sillage and longevity wise. I do not get over three hours out of this fragrance, and during those three hours, others will only smell you when close to you. At this price point, the performance is a big let-down.

I wear this perfume mostly in the winter months. It's underwhelming performance makes for a great office fragrance. This is also great to wear to a high-end restaurant.

My spray routine for this fragrance is as follows:
- 2 sprays behind each ear
- 2 spray on each side of the neck
- 1 spray on each collar
- 1 spray on both hands and wrists

A passionfruit and leather BOMB
I purchased a 50ml bottle of Maison Crivelli's Oud Maracujá just before 2023 ended, as a gift to myself.
I'd been thinking about buying it for months on end, and on a whim decided to finally shell out the €215, which comes out to about €4,50 per ml... I do end up only having to use a few sprays, hence I still gave this perfume a 6.0 for 'Value for money'.

The packaging it comes in is quite alright. I like the look of the box and the 'personal' card from Thibaut Crivelli, the creator of the brand.
The bottle to me, while being of high quality (especially the cap has a good feeling to it), is still quite bland.

This perfume opens with a passionfruit bomb, along with lots and lots of leather, which manages to cling onto my skin and clothes for the entire day, up until my shower the next morning. Whenever I let someone smell it, they most often describe the smell as something like gasoline (I just like to think they have underdeveloped noses...).

As a testament to how incredibly strong and potent this perfume is; I wore the fragrance after I purchased it, and when I met my girlfriend in the train 2 hours later, she was able to smell me THROUGH THE DOOR and locate me by the extreme scent trail this perfume left everywhere I went.

I wear this perfume in winter only, for all occasions.

My spray routine for this fragrance is as follows:
- 2 sprays behind each ear
- 1 spray on the left hand

My forever favourite
I purchased a 100ml bottle when on holiday in Dubai in 2023.
I'd only smelled it once the day before (and got violently sick the same night) but I had to have it, especially because I managed to find a bottle for only 107 euros on an online webshop.

Using express delivery, as I had a flight back two days later, the bottle arrived and I owned my first ever Nishane (my life was about to change for the better).
I immediately unboxed the perfume and was stunned by the high quality packing material, the extra touch that comes with the included postcard and of course the majestic bottle itself.
The cap is heavy and of high quality, the sprayer feels good to use and spritzes a good amount of perfume, and I like the overall aesthetic of the bottle.

It opens with green, spicy notes, after which I immediately smell orange and an explosion of vanilla comes through. This vanilla stays until the very end and keeps mixing with all of the other notes in the perfume.

This is the best fragrance I have ever smelled, and probably will be my favourite fragrance forever.
The scent itself is beyond a 10/10. It can get me through the toughest day, or even improve the best day.
The performance is close to perfect as well. It stays potent for well over 10 hours, and the sillage is enough for people to smell you when you enter a room (using 6 sprays).

For me, this is THE scent. I will always purchase a new bottle if I am ever to run out, I always bring a small decant with me wherever I go and I hope this never gets reformulated or discontinued.

I wear this perfume most during the fall/winter months, but sometimes just can't help putting it on in other periods of the year too. The green, orangey opening makes it possible to wear in warmer months as well.

My spray routine for this fragrance is as follows:
- 2 sprays behind each ear
- 2 sprays on the neck
- 1 spray on the left hand and right wrist
