The Sweet Desert Flower
For me, it's a ten out of ten fragrance. Alongside Naxos, it's my absolute favorite scent, even though I've only recently been able to call the "Flower of the Desert" my own.
When my nose caught a whiff of it on International Women's Day, March 8th, at the Louis Store in Hamburg, I was blown away. I had it engraved right away and took it home immediately. I went there to check out Ombre Nomade, which unfortunately didn't appeal to me at all, and left happily with Fleur du Désert.
I must say, I have quite a few fragrances, but this one gets used at least once a week, and I can't get enough of the floral-sweet scent that envelops my nose. Sure, it has a hefty price tag, but the refills and engraving make it very appealing to invest in a Louis fragrance.
Now, about the scent itself, I would describe it as having a rather linear development, where towards the end, a bit of spice stands out due to the oud accent. However, it basically starts with sweet honey combined with the floral centifolia, and it stays that way. The floral accord is further supported by jasmine, and at times I can also detect cinnamon in certain spots, and I love cinnamon and honey. So much for the scent itself.
Furthermore, this sweet desert flower lasts on my skin for a minimum of 10 hours, which I find very impressive, and it projects quite well for the first 5 hours. Comparatively well, like my Naxos from Xerjoff.
Ultimately, Fleur du Désert has become my signature scent, as I believe it can also be worn very well by men. Just a 10 out of 10 fragrance!
