Nice but not my favourite PDM
I bought a full bottle in the middle of 2020 (Batch code: 0340156) after following the massive hype.
I'm not able to break out the individual notes - to my simplistic nose smell woody and somewhat like tobacco.
It definitely a nice masculine fragrance that has decent performance but not to the hype level of most reviewers and influencers. With 6 sprays (half on my shirt) I get 4-6 hours of longevity but with moderate projection. Mostly skin scent for me after two hours...
I'm interested to know whether other with my batch have the same performance. For me this is a bit of a disappointment when compared to what I was expecting and to what I get from my other PdM fragrances.
For me this is not a room filler and I'll be wearing this to work - sillage is noticable but not overwhelming for the first couple of hours
I did get a boost when I did some exercise and warmed up. I was not really able to smell it on clothes the next day (it was only detectable because I knew it was there)
I'm ok with the performance of my batch though my Layton and Layton Exclusif perform way better - and to be honest I prefer their scents above Carlisle

Very poor performance (batch: 140120011037)
I recently reviewed Al Haramain's Amber Oud Tobacco. This 'Rouge' release couldn't be more different in terms of performance...
The tobacco last for days, the rouge (Batch Code: 140120011037) last for literally minutes...
There is almost no sillage right from the start - after 15 min I doubt that anyone will notice you are wearing this..
I can still smell this very faintly after an hour if press my nose right on the place where I sprayed...
I tried overspaying - not much effect
It's a real pity as this is a nice fragrance but completely unusable for me as a fragrance... I'd be respraying all the time.
Given the many people who report good performance all I can think is poor quality control in their manufacturing process...
The presentation is very impressive like for the tobacco - fancy hinged box and nice bottle. With all that effort it's a shame that the fragrance doesn't live up to expectations. This not a release that Al Haramain can be proud of.
BTW, I didn't find this for sale on the Al Haramain website - maybe the company gave up on this too.
Their Amber Oud Tobacco is really good.

Nice and long lasting
I like this fragrance - it has a very interesting smell and unique in my collection. Though it's not my favourite, it is pleasant and will get you noticed.
Really fancy presentation - luxury box and nice bottle. Mine was 60ml - don't know if it comes in other sizes.
It's sweet but I cannot place the individual notes - I expected to be able to identify the tobacco but cannot - It's not a tobacco smell that I recognize. Maybe due to the many other notes present. Definitely unisex.
It's very long lasting...Must be easily 6-8 hours and I'm still smelling it strongly.
It has a loud projection for the first few hours and even more in hot weather. It'll last on clothes for days.

Amber & leather but watch out for the hype

I'm embarrassed to admit that I fell for the over-hype on this and blind bought based on perceived shortage - I rushed to buy as I didn't want to loose out!
I like it and wear it maybe once a month but it's not one that I consider a favorite - maybe too linear - for me what I smell at the start is what I get to the end - the same amber and leather all the way thru.

Nice but loud fougère
My batch code is A25301C158.
This is a loud & brash, but glorious fougère. I find it mostly masculine.
I cannot break out the individual notes but it's botanical, woody and mossy.
I do like this a lot but I don't see this as one you'll get many complements for - you'll definitely get noticed but more out of interest than enjoyment...
It lasts for hours and hours and has strong projection for the first couple of hours. If you move into heat, it'll come back strong... On clothes it'll lasts for days...
Be careful of overspaying expecially on clothes as the combination of its strength and duration can be cloying after a few hours... (sometimes it's a good thing that strong scents fade away)
