L`Eau d`Issey Pour Homme Noir Ambre
Are designers getting into the game of releasing niche quality offerings? Well it seems to be with the new Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme Noir Ambre. Glad I found this new Issey Miyake Noir Ambre at duty free in Europe as I was quite surprised at how great Noir Ambre is. So I had to snatch it right up. Being the amber fragrance fan I had to have this one. It’s like the best niche amber fragrance blended with the best designer release and this time from Issey Miyake to come up with this great release by this brand that I have not purchased from since 2005. It’s been a long time and I’m glad this has launched. As mentioned in the video Issey Miyake L`Eau d`Issey Pour Homme Noir Ambre is not anything groundbreaking but really, really good for a designer release. I just hope it makes it to our shores as currently I cannot see it listed as being sold in the USA on the Issey Miyake website. If you're interested in further learning about this scent please watch my video review. Thank you.

Amber & leather but watch out for the hype
My batch code is 0155FM

It's a nice amber & leather fragrance but doesn't live up to the hype from influencers.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I fell for the over-hype on this and blind bought based on perceived shortage - I rushed to buy as I didn't want to loose out!

I like it and wear it maybe once a month but it's not one that I consider a favorite - maybe too linear - for me what I smell at the start is what I get to the end - the same amber and leather all the way thru.

It's a good performer with 4-6 hours . Stays around longer on clothes..
It projects moderately well at the start - I don't find it to be too loud. Sillage is the same. Should be ok for an office scent.

People will smell you for 2-3 hours then mostly skin scent though I did periodically get whiffs of for many hours...

Well-blended designer amber, even if overpriced/hyped
This is first wearing of Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Noir Ambre, a 2016 release that seems to be among the most hyped-up and resold a higher (i.e. $100+) prices on the secondary market for its 100ml bottle size.

It’s an aptly-named dark amber that’s midway between dry and syrupy, definitely a slightly sharp, designer-type (appropriately) amber rather than a deeper expression of amber (that is otherwise either sweeter or more animalic). Moreover, it has woody, spicy, and leathery influences and does have a multifaceted sort of feel—again, more of a designer blend (typical of the brand) than an amber-dominant mix. I can see why it’s seemingly so popular on account of it neither being too sweet nor too animalic, also.

It does not appear that Noir Ambre is officially discontinued, though, as its URL on the Issey Miyake website is active, and it does occasionally pop up for sale on discounter sites like FragranceNet and FragranceBuy.CA, but certainly the perception seems to be that supply is limited, thereby driving up its price.

Overall, I think Noir Ambre is in the league of Or Encens and Polaris as a solid resin-heavy yet still well-blended risk. It feels better-rounded than Polaris, which has a faintly cigarette smoke vibe, but not as complete as Or Encens. It’s very good, but some of the prices it’s going for (well above $100, at times) seem to be a bit of a stretch. In the price range of some of the more popular recent releases, perhaps $60-70 for 100ml, it’s a good buy, though.

A discontinued masterpiece
It's the best winter fragrance I've ever found. And I'm extremely picky when it comes to warm winter scents. This is just. . .Wow. Actually floored me. It's so soft and gentle but with great performance - two things that usually do not go hand in hand. The smokiness isn't too in your face, and really pulls all of the smooth amber together to make a concoction to die for. It's actually addictive!

One of my best reviewed and rated fragrances. Fortunately you can find this one still on social media groups on occasion, but it won't be forever and if you are patient you can find it for a decent price for what you are getting. I'm definitely on the look out for a backup bottle (which I never do).

Now I'll be right back. I've got to go find my jaw. I dropped it on the floor here somewhere.

Kinda Disappointed
Edit: Al Haramain Amber Oud Black Edition is inspired by this and smells better in my opinion.

I bought the new batch that was released this year.
I had high expectations because of all the reviews but the moment i sprayed this i thought to myself: Is this it?

Quite a disappointment.

I let it sit for some months and kept trying again but it stayed the same.

Yes, it is niche like smelling, not mainstream at all.

What surprised me though was that it immediately reminded me of Al Haramain Amber Oud Black Edition that i also have.

So my advice is to test it before blind buying, also try the Amber Oud Black Edition, i find that one better personally.

Anyway i will just keep it for the collection.

Edit: Just tested both side by side each on one hand.
They are 90/95% similar but i prefer the Al Haramain because that one is less synthetic, smells better to my nose and has better performance.

This fragrance is all about the sweet alluring amber with the dark spicy leather. Papyrus, vanilla and tonka bean to complete the scent.

very invigorating saffron scent. I just wish it would be a bit less sweet.

Only for oriental lovers, otherwise is boring, fat, powdery stench ( I mostly hate orientals) , of course mega overpriced and over hyped.

Nice, sweet and spicy amber. A bargain at release, but not worth often outrageous discontinued prices. I often hate vanilla/tonka but well balanced.

Gooey, delicious, vanillic and spicy amber. Not smoky or animalic at all. Very designer but that's not a knock. This is very pleasant.
