No Shower Gel Scent?
Interesting that it is often perceived that this is not a shower gel scent.
I have been searching for a long time for a fragrance that smells like my favorite men's shower gel with cedarwood in a clear-brown packaging. I can't get enough of it and am continually captivated by this incredibly pleasant scent.
Yes, most shower gels for men smell very similar, and most men's fragrances from the drugstore do as well. But that’s exactly why this scent is so special. Soft yet invigorating.
The search has now come to an end because Botanical Resin smells exactly like that. A dream!

In my opinion, it is on the verge of unisex, as I find there is also a slight sweetness present, and the scent overall is not too aggressive.

Happiness Behind the Cow Shed
First of all: I approached this fragrance with high expectations, which may have influenced my disappointment.
Unfortunately, one must struggle through a cow shed before this fragrance develops into the beauty it essentially is. One might almost suspect that Oud has been secretly added here, but even that has not come to my nose in such a stinky variant.
The joy is all the greater when the fragrance is finally revealed, which one has been looking forward to.
Once you have fought through the penetrating smell, which can take up to 3 hours, you perceive a wonderfully warm, pleasantly resinous-balsamic scent. I think this fits well with the theme. The resinous-woody notes remind me very much of the scent that gently escapes from the sound holes of the cello body and is almost only perceptible when you are actually close to the instrument. This also reflects the intensity of the fragrance for me. Nothing radiates far here; it remains discreet and polite.
So, for those who do not have to experience the cow shed, they will be able to find a pleasant fragrance for themselves here.

Enchanting
This fragrance is so beautiful...
So soft and delicate yet wonderfully spicy at the same time.
At first, you can definitely perceive the different notes, but after a short while, the tonka bean comes clearly to the forefront and the other notes fade into the background.
For me, it has something very noble. Everything just fits perfectly here.

Of Blind Tests and Fairy Tales
This fragrance is proof to me of how much we let ourselves be influenced by brands...

Why?

I initially tested it blind:
at first, I was met with a dish soap scent, then it developed and became festive. However, the dish soap overpowered everything.
When I then found out that Althaïr was also part of my blind tests, I had to test it again. I perceived the dish soap note once more, but when the festive scent came in, I was this time ready to excuse this disturbing factor, knowing which fragrance it was, although it still bothered me.
The whole room now smelled of this Christmas and dish soap mixture. It certainly has power.

I was somewhat shocked by how much I let myself be influenced by the fairy tale of brand, niche, price, and reputation.

In the end, reason prevails, and the question remains: shouldn't such renowned fragrances have far fewer disturbing factors, be much smoother, given the reputation they have and the money one spends on them...?

Pleasantly Light Everyday Fragrance
It must be like this.
I really like this scent!
It starts with a summery citrus note that I can't see in the listed notes. But that doesn't matter. The citrus fades relatively quickly. After that, the fragrance takes on a pleasant softness. A mix of clean and floral. Very relaxed and light. Super pleasant, not intrusive. I believe if someone wears "Gold Oddity | Zara," it will be perceived as pleasant by everyone around. It is a very subtle scent that doesn't require much thought, yet is still well noticeable and doesn't fade quickly.

In general, I can't make much of the listed fragrance notes here. The only thing I perceive is the leather. This is very pleasant and soft. I absolutely do not find this scent mineral-like. Even with spicy notes, I have completely different associations than the fragrance direction of this perfume. And whether the word Gold really fits here - that could be debated. But in the end, what matters most is what our noses perceive, not the name of the fragrance.
