Rain, rain, come and stay!
This is a subtle and nice petrichor scent. While smelling this, you are transported to a gloomy day after the rain. This smells like going outside after it rains; you can smell the blades of grass that have dew drops remaining and the puddles on the ground. Very earthy and wet smelling.
It's comforting and nostalgic in a way, like going outside to play as a child after it rains.
A lovely best of both worlds!
For this being in the floral category on the shop's Etsy, I am surprised by just how much I like this! To me, this smells like a sweet floral cherry, not really cherry blossom. The sweetness comes from honey and milk, which make this so lovely to me. It's very feminine and sweet. The perfect floral for someone who does not like florals and a good gourmand for those who don't like gourmands.
I wanted to love this one...
A cheap dupe to Sticky Dates by Lush. Good for those who want more layering for their Sticky Dates mist, but this fragrance has some issues.
The scent is very synthetic and strong upon first rolling on, but eventually dries down to a more "honeyed" version of S.D. The overpowering smell does fade over time, but takes around an hour.
I am a gourmand lover and love to smell like every baked good under the sun, but this one is probably one of my least favorites from Zomething Strange. The smell is spot on to Sticky Dates, and I love the smell (sometimes), but it tends to get headache inducing.
A weird part of this fragrance to me is that my nose flips back and forth whether this smells like Sticky Dates or acetone/nail polish remover. I guess this fragrance can be summarized as "Sticky Dates in a Nail Salon."
Lovely Chocolate Scent with Some Issues
Photorealistic chocolate milk scent that feels like a warm hug. This fragrance will take you back to drinking hot chocolate during your childhood; it is very comforting. To me, this is more of a powdery chocolate rather than a straight gourmand chocolate.
It also is a lovely perfume to layer with over vanilla or gourmand scents. I have layered it with vanilla scents to create a chocolate cake esque routine.
However, there are some drawbacks to this fragrance, and Demeter, as well. This scent does not last long. I have mostly gotten around one to two hours of sillage from this fragrance.
Another problem, that is not this perfume's fault, is Demeter's packaging. Every bottle of Demeter's 30ml I, and other friends, own have severe leaking problems. The packaging and lid will be slippery with the perfume.
I would recommend this fragrance for layering, as long as you transfer it into new packaging.
A must for gourmand lovers!
Absolutely ADORE this scent! It is the perfect croissant scent without being too buttery or bready to the nose. The addition of the jam and black currant was an amazing touch, helping balance out the bread notes to this scent; usually I am not a fan of berry notes, but this is one of the rare exceptions. This scent is good for not just gourmand lovers, but also fans of fruitier notes as well.
This is a photorealistic scent. When wearing it, it brings into mind being in a cozy cafe full of warmth and the most perfect tray of croissants being placed in the display case. The scent is very comforting and one of those you would close your eyes and say 'ahh' about. This perfume welcomed me into being a bread note lover.
Another compliment of this perfume as well is Snif's bottles. They are perfect to hold in your hand and easy to spray unlike other brands. They are not bulky and sleek. I love the packaging and the blue Snif used on the bottle; it's like opening a little jar of jam! The magnetic lid is also perfect!
