Lilac experience number 2
After I had a few days ago with OSE (Simone Cosac) my first lilac scent under the nose, now follows herewith the number 2.....

And lo and behold: it goes also differently...!

While in the OSE the lilac hits very authentically but just also nuclear weapon-like, it is in DÉSARMANT very filigree and fine.......restrained and charming.....but still completely authentic......

It does not pounce loudly on the wearer in a raspy manner, but rather delicately exudes its wonderful fragrance into the surrounding landscape, merging with its aromas to create something entirely its own.....

The landscape mentioned above is primarily green.....partly mossy and damp, then again reminiscent of a meadow dried by the sun on which isolated bushes exhale the scent of their warm wood .....

Now, as the fragrance unfolds in all its fullness on my skin, I also understand what is meant by "nectar".......it is the sweet scent that springs from the stigma and stamens of a flower......the part where busy little bees gather the ingredients for their honey......

Therefore, despite the lilac, I don't necessarily perceive DÉSARMANT as a thoroughly "floral" fragrance......it's a scent reminiscent of an early summer countryside.....with everything that grows and thrives in it.....

The fragrance name says it all here: DÉSARMANT is indeed "disarmingly" beautiful......

Spring in a bottle.....
In over 40 years of perfume passion, this is the first lilac scent to come under my nose.....

For some reason, lilac as a dominant theme in a perfume, has never been on the agenda for me ......maybe it's because I like to use a lilac room spray from Rossmann after cleaning the house.......

And indeed, there are clear similarities here......to begin with, anyway.....

OSE opens with a bombastic lilac overkill that admittedly seems very authentic and is extraordinarily intense......

This first impression then also holds for quite a while, and I'm already close to write off this fragrance for me personally.....halte but through ;-).....

After about 30 minutes, the initial lilac bombardment gradually fizzles out, and the fragrance gradually transforms into a wonderfully creamy floral dream......bedded in soft musky fluff......

The gradually emerging patchouli grounds the fragrance and smooths the initially somewhat spiky and harsh florals.....

The sweetness in OSE is well balanced and pleasant......

After about 1,5 - 2 hours I really like the scent.......but: the waiting time is just too long for me ;-).....

To my rating:

Top note: 6,5
Heart note: 7,5
Base note: 8,5

Total: 7.5

A Weightless Veil Dream.....
Violette Précieuse is one of those rare fragrances that are so extraordinarily beautiful that even the most subtle words can't do it justice.......

Basically, one should refrain from attempting a description altogether...... leave the magic of this fragrance untouched.....

Nevertheless, I would like to venture the cautious - if inevitably imperfect - attempt to convey at least a small impression.......

Violette Précieuse is a tender, quiet and almost poetic fragrance.......it shimmers alternately and in fluid transitions between pale violet and pale greenish-bluish pastel tones.......

The pale powdery scent of violet leaf blends seamlessly with a wonderfully creamy iris and the watery cool clarity of lily of the valley.......a decidedly delicate, almost unobtrusive raspberry note lends subtle sweetness.......while a gossamer mist of musk quietly permeates the entire progression, keeping the fragrance suspended.......the fragile florals are gently supported by creamy soft sandalwood......

Violette Précieuse is not a sweet scent.....no candy scent.......as is often the case with violet/iris scents......here is nothing oppressive, sticky or even loud......

Everything remains soft, restrained and weightless.......elegant, exquisite and precious......as if you were touched by the wings of an angel.....

Upper Class
I have rarely smelled a fragrance that creates a similarly luxurious "upper class aura" around its (male) wearer, as this one .....

In my mind's eye, I see myself in a $10M apartment on the Upper East Side.......floor-to-ceiling windows.......roof terrace overlooking the East River.......floors and closets made of the finest woods........leather furniture in muted masculine tones......soft and perfectly manicured......a Welton candle , set in black onyx, gives the room a pleasantly subtle citrusy scent atmosphere......

Everything in this apartment exudes calm, poise, serenity and effortless elegance.......

However, it's also a bit chilly in these rooms......the host remains friendly aloof and always a bit aloof and mysterious.......

Ganymede is a fascination for me......I couldn't really say now that I "like".....exactly, in fact, I don't like him.......but he captivates me in some inscrutable way.......

What might be worth mentioning is that this fragrance is highly synthetic......which means: once it's there, it never goes away *grin*

Not my Iris....
I am not a friend of sweetish-vanilla staged iris and can therefore also not particularly much abgewinnen this fragrance.....

To my mind, any clearly perceptible sweetness robs the iris of its naturally cool elegance.....

Moreover, my incense-sensitive nose also clearly perceives it.....although it is not indicated......a Google search then revealed, however, that the above pyramid is incomplete.....

Elsewhere, the following ingredients are found:

Iris, driftwood, vanilla, frankincense, myrrh, sugar, amber, ambregis, vetiver....

The above ingredients are also much more in line with my personal perception......

People who like all that, however, will find here a delicate, soft-woody and resinous-sweet companion in the center of which unfolds a softly-butterscotchy iris.....
