Since Plato condemned any form of mimesis so harshly, a disdain for imitations of all kinds has run through European intellectual history - if one dares to speak of such a thing. So, I spent the time until the arrival of the mentioned perfume not only in a state of childlike anticipation but also mixed with some uncertainty and fear of disappointment.
Finally, the fateful day had come. I removed the bottle from the slightly damaged packaging - this seems to be a tradition - and after a brief inspection, I applied the noble scent to the back of my hand. Still, no relief came: at first, the citrusy top note flooded the room, which I was fortunately prepared for.
However, as it faded and the perfume began to dry down, my soul rejoiced, and sounds of delight escaped my mouth! It truly smells like a - admittedly slightly citrusy - "Aventus Creed." The sillage and longevity are also outstanding.
Fortunately, I wasn't deterred by the negative reviews. However, since I don't suspect that so many commentators are giving false testimony, it could very well be that fortune kissed my bottle while indeed inferior batches are circulating.
Mine, at least (10/2019), meets all my desires, which is why I must hereby recommend it for all Aventus enthusiasts!
