Where is the Hussy?
In search of a replacement for the discontinued Accord 119 by Caron, my absolute favorite, I stumbled upon Citizen Queen. Right off the bat: It can't be a replacement. But I have already fallen in love. One can easily have a second favorite fragrance.
I fell for Citizen Queen (or do you say "smelled"?) because it is not at all lusty-leathery on me. The scent comes across soft and powdery, a bit sugary, but really calm, mild, and flattering. The leather may briefly pass by in the first 5 minutes, but then it disappears and makes way for an absolutely everyday-appropriate and youth-friendly fragrance that is powdery and subtly floral. The sillage and longevity are rather average for me; after 3 hours, the scent is only barely detectable up close. For me, this Juliette is without a gun and non-violent, making it rather unsuitable for seduction. My partner primarily detected the powder and found the scent "interesting." After several tests, he could momentarily perceive a hint of leather. But only very subtly.
My father’s reaction was interesting. He felt transported back to his twenties in a dance club because of this scent. "That's exactly how it smelled back then, and almost all the girls wore a perfume that smells like you do now," he said with shining eyes. My fragrance inspired him to recall some youthful memories that truly surprised me, but that would be off topic here.
I regret that I can't say more about the individual components of this fragrance, as I still belong to the beginner noses and don't know the names of the ingredients. But as a woman who has loved "Grande Dame" classic fragrances all her life, I can say that Citizen Queen leans a bit in that direction on my skin, and not into the lusty leather (*sighs regretfully*). However, it lacks the depth and weight to be a true classic. Still, it's on my wish list.

Simply Jasmine
This scent is pure jasmine. I took a sample from ALZD so I wouldn't have to rely on my memory, as I sprayed this fragrance repeatedly in London years ago, at the Organic Pharmacy, where it is quite exclusive. By now, of course, it is also available online in Germany. But it's rarely available for testing.
Long story short. I love jasmine and have had my eye on this fragrance for a long time. I also love the scent of my little jasmine bush on the balcony. A dream in spring. And this perfume smells just like that. I can't identify much else, but I'm also (still) not an experienced sniffer of components. However, I can say that if other notes appear in a fragrance beyond jasmine, I may not necessarily know what they are called.
On my skin, jasmine comes through with the first spray. It doesn't need to develop first. It's there immediately. Not even on the test strip do you notice the alcohol or need the famous three minutes before you can sniff it - no, it's simply present right away. It's like pure jasmine oil, which is also immediately present.
After a while, the scent settles, becomes calmer, loses some of its floral quality. But it remains completely jasmine and true to itself. A very authentic candidate, a reliable soul. Since I don't perceive anything else around the jasmine, I also notice no significant changes over time, except that the scent becomes weaker. For me, it's a well-rounded fragrance and consistent within itself. But, I admit: It's also a bit boring. Since I learned that you can create appealing scent pyramids with jasmine, this fragrance unfortunately no longer captivates me. As a scent per se, yes, but not on my skin.
From my memory, I would say that Night Scented Jasmine by Floris is very similar, though a tad fresher. Maybe I’m just tired of pure jasmine after this bottle from Floris?

The Scent of the Grande Dame - My Great Favorite
I can't believe that Accord 119 is no longer being produced. I personally bought my first bottle in Paris when I was actually looking to buy a Caron powder and was spontaneously seduced by the scent. I used it very sparingly - and now, when I need a refill, I realize that it no longer exists. A crime against humanity, as Chanelle rightly says.
For me, this scent belongs in the category of classic fragrances for a lady. Heavy, powdery, magnificent, self-assured, noble. I loved such scents in my twenties and still do today. It can't be described better than with the words "great, classic women's fragrance." It has such elegance, is heavy yet unobtrusive, warm, and reminds one of the lady of the manor in an English country house or the lady of an old German noble castle....
I was lucky and managed to snag a bottle without the outer box from a French dealer. It's still on its way, and I hope it's fine even without the box. In the meantime, it means once again for me to look for a new fragrance alternative. Why are my favorite scents always being taken off the market?

I miss him so much!
I love Tendre Poison in the summer. I wonder why my name here in the forum is Tender Poison...
It doesn't fit Dior at all, because it's the only Dior fragrance that I really like (and I don't like the others at all). That's probably why it was discontinued. I miss him so much! I managed to get a tester from the USA, which I cherish and keep, only using it for truly important events in the height of summer, so that the bottle lasts forever.
I haven't found a worthy substitute yet. Yes, I also really like Cabotine, but it's just not the same. Tendre Poison is a touch fresher and more vibrant, uncomplicated. Greener and lighter, yet feminine, not harsh. I always get compliments when I wear it. Tendre Poison and Tender Poison, a fragrant pair.
Why did Dior discontinue the production of its best fragrance?! I’m going to go cry again.

He was my first
Anais Anais. My first fragrance, my very first. At 15. Mom bought it for me for a small amount of money in a kind of Duty Free shop in Yugoslavia in the eighties. I'm not sure how I discovered it, or if my mom recommended it to me. But it was love at first sniff. And first love can accompany you for a lifetime - or occupy your thoughts. There are only a few years in my life when there wasn't a bottle of this wonderful timeless scent in my bathroom. For me, it fits year-round, on every occasion, on vacation as well as at home, in the office as well as in the evening. The scent is full yet gentle, floral but also powdery, simply rounded and harmonious. It has been my constant companion for thirty years. Isn't it beautiful to have such a loyal affair?
By the way, just two years later, Paris by YSL moved in as my second permanent companion in my bathroom. Once you’ve convinced me properly, I’m loyal for life :-)
