Satan would buy Interlude
When the Day of Judgment arrives, the earth opens up, and the legions of hell descend upon the planet, I am sure it will smell like Interlude at that moment!
Just the act of removing the cap releases a scent note that tentacle-like makes its way through the room, threatening to choke bystanders. My girlfriend immediately recoiled in disgust and wishes not to be bothered by this fragrance anymore. However, I am fascinated by it, and like many of Amouage's fragrances, it is a statement, unique and of high quality.
One should not expect to be approached by women in public when wearing Interlude. It is more likely that they will cross to the other side of the street. Simply put, Interlude actually smells to me like incense mixed with sulfur dioxide and a rich splash of sweet fruit brandy.
Yes, it is almost unbearable, unless you have a date with the devil or a succubus, and it penetrates the people around you in a way that will not always elicit cheers.
However, it is fascinating, and like most Amouage fragrances, it has style and a mind of its own.
Interlude makes no prisoners. Either you hate it or you love it. There is not much in between. Except perhaps for those who must acknowledge the high quality and therefore do not completely tear apart the fragrance. Of course, there are even more intense scent bombs, but rarely are opinions about a fragrance as divided as they are with Interlude, and that is a good thing!

Flashbacks and Neymar Jr.
In recent years, I have sniffed through numerous fragrances and have thus been able to gather many different impressions. Some scents have given me completely new experiences, while others felt strangely familiar, as if I had fleetingly perceived them on other people in the past.
However, I mostly lacked the images in my head and desperately tried to figure out in what situation I had experienced this scent and who might have worn it.
When I first tested Drakkar Noir, I didn’t have to think long. It hit me like a bolt of lightning, and immediately the right images flashed through my mind.
However, they were not images of people in brightly colored blazers, mullets, or cowboy boots. That would have actually fit well with the heyday of Drakkar Noir. No, in the 80s I was still too young to consciously remember scent impressions.
It was the early 90s, and it was totally trendy to meet in empty factory halls.
In my mind's eye, I saw foggy dance floors where we danced until dawn to hypnotic sounds. It was the heyday of techno, which was slowly emerging from the underground at that time but was initially celebrated in abandoned buildings and halls in private settings before it finally conquered the discos.
As a scent, it was Drakkar Noir that gave this scenario a soul and breathed life into it for me. I can’t remember if it was one of my friends who wore this fragrance, but I often smelled it on those occasions, and every time I use it, I feel transported back to that time.
It clearly speaks for this fragrance that it was still popular in the 90s and even now has a loyal fan base. Currently, it is even being actively promoted again in some countries, with soccer player Neymar Jr. as its figurehead.
In my eyes, Drakkar Noir is timeless, even though it has lost a bit of its luster over time. This is not due to the scent itself, but, as mentioned here, some shower gels now smell similar, and it has often been copied in other ways.
However, one must credit the creators positively for having created a classic that still has enough radiance to let me indulge in past times.

The new king? Not quite, but close
What is special about this fragrance that seemingly appears out of nowhere and dominates the ranking of men's scents? First, I would say that it offers something for almost everyone. Bentley for Men Intense is a blend of very sweet, but also leathery and rather masculine notes. A scent that could confidently be called unisex, which both men and women can wear without turning red.
The perfumers have also managed the feat of creating a fragrance that, while reminiscent of several other great and well-known scents, is still unique and unmistakable in its own way. The comparisons to Dior Homme, L'instant de Guerlain, or Amouage in general are certainly understandable, but still, one has never smelled something like this in this composition. It has a high recognition value, and you can smell it even from a crowd. That’s already a good prerequisite for a classic. Whether it will be enough for that, of course, only the next years or decades will tell.
In terms of development, I find the scent relatively one-dimensional. Only the sweetness fades a bit after a few hours, and it then smells a touch more masculine and more like leather. Right after spraying, the intense rum note immediately stands out, which you have never smelled in this form before. It smells like a fine rum cocktail that would certainly also be ordered by women in a lounge. Perfectly rounded and extremely delicious with a hint of cinnamon.
They have managed to select the fragrance components in such a way that a scent has emerged that certainly won’t bother many people. It is definitely too pleasant, enjoyable, and overall too delicious to actually dislike.
Only men who generally prefer extremely masculine scents should perhaps test it first before acquiring it.
The season is currently also perfect for this fragrance. It fits wonderfully for autumn and winter. In spring, however, I would prefer other scents, and for summer, it is definitely not recommended. In high temperatures, this scent could become a sillage monster that penetrates the surroundings.
A special mention is also deserved for the bottle, in my opinion. It has turned out beautifully, and you can tell that the designer was inspired by the theme of cars. It is a hefty, solid bottle that also looks very elegant and exudes sophistication.
For me, one of the most beautiful bottles of recent times, and they have perfectly captured the theme.
Conclusion: With Bentley for Men Intense, a very delicious fragrance has been created that definitely enriches the world of scents. Almost everything is right here. A wonderfully rounded scent with high durability, sillage, and a wonderful bottle. In my personal ranking, it might not be in first place, but it is definitely up there.
There are no rough edges to be found here. Lovers of rugged scents might want to test this Bentley first. Highly recommended for everyone else.

Controversial Favorite
When reading the comments here on Parfumo, it seems that Aventus is one of those fragrances that people either love or hate, with not much in between. One person detects a wet ashtray, while another would give their last shirt for this scent.
I must admit right away that I belong to the faction that loves this fragrance, and it will likely never leave my collection.
To be honest, I am more surprised at how controversially Aventus is discussed here. So far, whether in my job or privately, I have only received positive feedback on Aventus.
It is an absolutely attractive, masculine scent that is also perceived as such by women. It manages to be both rugged and smoky while also fresh and elegant. For me, it is a fragrance that can be worn on many occasions and is well received both in the club and at work.
There has been much discussion here about longevity. I am not sure if it is really due to the fluctuating quality of the batches that some attest to Aventus having poor longevity. I have the impression that Aventus is one of those fragrances that the wearer does not really perceive after a while. I felt similarly when I first used the scent. I thought I had gotten a bad specimen. However, others then commented on how good I smelled, while the scent was no longer present for me. So far, I have had the opportunity to try 4 different batches and have not noticed any significant differences in quality or longevity.
By now, I have had the chance to test several fragrances from Creed. My conclusion is that while Creed produces few bad scents, some do indeed seem overpriced because they are simply nothing special and do not stand out. Aventus is a clear exception for me. Alongside Silver Mountain Water and Spice & Wood, Aventus is one of the best Creed fragrances in my opinion. Here, you get a noble yet everyday-appropriate scent that fascinates both men and women equally, and in my opinion, it is worth every cent.

King of Oud
Rarely have fragrances captivated me as much as those from Armani's Mille et une Nuits collection.
These are oriental, spicy scents in perfection and of outstanding quality that Armani presents to us. Whether it's Rose d'Arabie, Ambre Orient, Cuir Noir, or Oud Royal, I have been equally enchanted by all of them, and they represent true art to me.
Some may appreciate the exclusivity of the Armani Privé line, but I find it rather unfortunate that these brilliant creations do not reach a larger audience, as they are only sold in select stores at a rather hefty price. However, one can somewhat justify this due to the quality of the fragrances.
With this scent, an attempt has been made to create a perfect Oud fragrance, and in my opinion, it has succeeded. Oud Royal has a dark core of Oud and incense, enveloped by saffron, sandalwood, and rose, which perfectly cushions the harshness of this scent and makes it a wonderfully harmonious, perfectly balanced olfactory experience. It is clearly a dark, mysterious fragrance that, in my opinion, is more suitable for men. However, Armani has managed to round this scent off well enough that it can also be worn by women with a good dose of self-confidence.
For example, my girlfriend experiences a slightly different scent evolution than I do. While it seems to become softer over time on her, it changes little on me and continues to smell very masculine. She loves this fragrance, but it must be said clearly that it is not suitable for every woman, and I can well imagine that some may not appreciate it. Especially if they prefer sweet, "girly" scents.
If Oud Royal is too intense, one might want to try Cuir Noir from this line. In my opinion, this one is equally wearable for both men and women.
The longevity of Oud Royal is excellent for me. When I used it the other evening, I could still perceive remnants of it the next morning. The sillage is just right in my view. If it had any more, it would be a bit too much of a good thing. This way, you are surrounded by a mysterious aura, but it does not overwhelm your surroundings. Provided you do not use too much of it.
Oud Royal could be the perfect scent for all stylish film villains. Whether it's Michael Corleone or various Bond villains. I recently rewatched the second part of "The Godfather" and had Oud Royal still lingering on my wrist during it. I could easily imagine that Al Pacino or Robert De Niro would have worn it if the fragrance had existed back then.
Conclusion:
I have now tested numerous Oud creations, and for me, Oud Royal is the clear winner and sits right at the top of my must-have list.
A very fascinating scent with a dark soul, but much style and charisma. A clear recommendation from my side for all who enjoy spicy and mysterious fragrances. Those who prefer fresh, aquatic, and sporty scents should rather steer clear of it.
